Puppet Under Strings (unOrdinary)

Episode 4

Seraphina's POV

"Woah. You really weren't kidding, Isen." Arlo was stunned.

"What the-" Remi took a step back.

I could barely believe it. It was humongous. And exactly how Isen described it. 

I gulped. didn't trust it. The aura around it was scary and creepy. But John! This is for him! I had to go in!

I took a step forward. Arlo grabbed my arm.

"Wait. We all need to do it." he said with a bit of fear as well.

I paused, then nodded. Arlo took a step. Then Remi. Then Blyke. Then Isen.

Please. Please be in here! Safe!

We walked into the front doors. White and red swarmed the room. There were many banners on the tall walls that had the iconic Ember symbol on them.

"Urgh!"

"Remi, what's wrong?" Arlo turned to face her.

Remi held her mouth like she was about to throw up. She pointed at the windows on top of the shutters. There was a picture of a bloodied X-Static. Another window showed ArkRAYgeous. A third, Radiance. Fourth, Equinox. Fifth, Shatterstack.

"Holy shit..." Isen looked around, seeing more pictures of people.

These were all dead Superheroes!

"I can't believe how sick Ember is." Arlo scoffed.

Tat...tat...

I turned around. So did Arlo, Remi, Blyke, and Isen. It couldn't be. There on the white marble floor stood John with his head down, walking towards us. I was so happy!

I sprint forward into his arms.

"John!" I chirped with glee. "I missed you so much! You're okay!"

Arlo's POV

He's wearing a different outfit from before...

Seraphina's POV

"Seraphina! Get away from him!" Arlo yelled.

What was he talking about? Didn't he want us to find John? And here he is! Right in us!

"Arlo, just stop talking and let me enjoy this moment." I replied.

"Sera..."

"John. I'm so happy. Let's go home." I was crying in joy.

"No."

"Huh? John? T-Tell me this is a joke. You're joking, right?" I shook him.

"I'm not going with you." I couldn't believe it. "I'm staying here at Ember's headquarters. They need me. Don't you see? I can join Ember and use my ability to kill so many Superheroes. I can help low tiers and mid tiers with the help of Ember's ability vials. 

"Remi, don't you think that's a splendid idea?" John turned to her, smiling.

No. I don't like this! It's not the same as his original smile!

"What the hell?" Blyke flinched along with Isen.

"Ugh..." Arlo scoffed.

"John. What on earth happened to you while you were in this building?" Remi asked in concern.

"Why're you all looking at me like that? You're acting as if I'm some sort of monster." John emphasized on the word monster.

"John! Snap out of it! This isn't you!" I grabbed onto his arms and shook him.

"Sera, what would you know? There's a lot of things that's happened in my life. New Bostin was only a snippet of it. So what makes you think you can boss me around?" John's eyes were cold.

"What did they do? Answer Remi's questions, John!" I yelled.

"Nothing. Honestly, Sera, I don't know what you're freaking out about. I feel refreshed. Ember saved me from what I called happiness. Those times spent with you, the relief to see that you were okay when you were a cripple. It wasn't happiness. Such a shame I couldn't see the light before. But now that that's over, the time has come for Ember to finally take control of Wellston."

"Yep, something definitely happened while we were away." Blyke said.

"He's so calm it's frightening." Isen shivered.

"You're acting crazy, John. There's no way you actually think this. The John I know hates Ember to the gut. Remember? They took away my ability! Hurt you and Arlo!"

John put his head back and chuckled like a madman. "Oh, man. The way you guys are looking at me and trying to convince me out of Ember is so pitiful."

His cold eyes suddenly turned into a sad frown. He held my hands.

"Please, Sera. Leave right now."

Huh? For a second, he looked like the real John. I looked at the corner of my eye. Arlo and Remi noticed, too.

"John, I-"

"AARGH!!"

John let go of my hands and screamed in pain. He held onto the side of his neck.

"JOHN!"

I heard a woman's voice yell John's name. She came into the main room. And looked familiar. Long blonde hair tied on the top of her head. A black hat and clothing of the same color. Golden yellow eyes that struck fear...

"Volcan!" Remi screamed.

Volcan...the same woman who killed Remi's brother! It was her!

"It's been a while, X-Rei..."

NOTE: I just wanted to thank you readers! We've almost reached 60 reads on this fanfic and I'm happy to say that a lot of people read my episodes! So thank you again! If you're wondering, I update pretty fast on this website because I've written this story beforehand. I'm almost finished writing the full script of this fanfic! Sorry to say this but this fanfic is not that long! It's less than 20 chapters :-( 

But one thing you can look forward to is that I plan to make another fanfic in John's POV, instead of this story which is Sera's! I'm planning for it to be much longer than this one. I'll tell you more details as I figure it out. Until then, please stick with me and please leave a vote/comment on each episode or the series if you've enjoyed it! Ah, I feel so desperate...
