When your older sister gets married it's a big deal for everyone. And I mean, EVERYONE. When DJ finally agreed to marry her long-time boyfriend Ben, everyone went crazy.
DJ. Sweet, beautiful DJ.
She's basically a second mother to me. Even on her worst days she's a ray of sun.
I was so happy for her, because I knew how well Ben treated her.
They announced their engagement last year, around Easter. They spent all year planning their dream wedding, and it was finally coming!
The wedding was going to be held under a huge pavilion near a church. And most importantly, my sister, Jada, and I were going to be bridesmaids!

I had never thought the time would come when I would actually be EXCITED for a wedding. I guess it's because it's for my best friend's sister.
I couldn't wait to wear the beautiful dress Jazz and I bought together, dance all night, and attack that giant candy buffet she's been telling me all about.
Plus, summer had JUST started and I couldn't wait to start crossing things off my bucket list.

We were counting down the days until the wedding. Before we knew it, it was the night before and we had a final rehearsal. Jazz and I changed into nice clothes and hurried down the stairs where DJ, Ben, and my parents stood packing the car with decorations. They were all yelling over each other and running around. It was complete chaos.
When we FINALLY got in the car we were already five minutes late. I texted my friend Preston (who was handling the guest book) to warn everyone who arrived on time.
