Dread of a Monday morning

The rest of the ride home that day felt like a one thousand year trip to hell and back by bicycle.

Kylo stayed snarky. He must've had something important on his mind, for him to waste all his time with you this weekend just to have him change his mind would have been preposterous. To be honest, you weren't sure how to react. He had yet to ask you to be his girlfriend if that were what he wanted. You didn't know whether to talk to him like you were, perhaps sugar coating his problems with reassurance and endearing pet names, Calling Kylo "Baby" Just to help him cope. Or to just be there for him like a friend, someone unaffiliated with Solo Productions or any of his deeper emotions.

It seemed as though he would have preferred the latter. The man who told you to never leave him again was throwing a bitch fit in the driver's seat. Huffing and puffing as if you were supposed to know the inner workings of his mind by now, and maybe you were, though he hadn't given you an instruction manual.

He had dropped you off at your apartment. The nearly bare walls greeting you as you walked in. To be fair, you didn't even dislike where you lived. However, bouncing between Kylo's precisely decorated home to your empty and lonesome apartment left you feeling uneasy.

You showered, pampering yourself to your liking before you sat on your couch. Munching on some ready-made pasta, while watching reality TV.

You realized you hadn't heard from Kylo, you did what any sane person would do. Text him.

You sent a sweet, not too bothersome message along the lines of.

"Had a great weekend. Chat soon? :)"

You grit your teeth, fighting back the cringe that filled you the second you saw the little 'delivered' underneath your message.

After what felt like forever of you checking the conversation, to be greeted with the same word underneath your message still, you began to drift off. Though you tried your best to fight it, you knew the only way to keep him off of your mind for more than a minute was to sleep him away.

———————————————————-

Blinding streaks of sun breaking through the grim clouds had your face in a scrunch. If there were anything you hated more than sleeping without kylo, It were waking up without him. For some reason, he took all the dread of a Monday morning away. He was stronger than any coffee.

You stepped inside of Solo. Taking note of the slight dust layer on the glass door. Likely due to your lack of work ethic in the past few months. Kylo didn't seem to notice, though. Something he would have been sure to call you on before all of this. You assured yourself that you would Windex them later.

"Goodmorning sleepy." Poes' soft voice greeted you, slightly offending your undereye bags. "So sweet. Same to you."

He followed you up the stairs to Kylo's Office, asking you about your weekend, what happened after you left the pub the other day.

Kylo's door left you locked out with a note, thankfully you had keys of your own, or else you'd be stuck hanging out with the crew all day, dodging the most obvious of questions.

"Where was Kylo?"

"Hm." You offered Poe a half-smile, motioning to excuse him while you gathered your thoughts.

You sat in Kylo's large Chair, reading the note.

'(Y/N)
Had some things to take care of. Please see my planner and instruct the crew accordingly. Also, make sure everyone is clocked in properly. Do a quick clean up before locking up.
