I went to the hospital to check on Brooke and Julia. Brooke hasn't really left her side since it all happened. Julia knew she had a family but her father always told her not to get involved. I walked up to Brooke. "So I have work today but if you need me call me." I said "I think we'll be okay. She gets discharged today so I'm just gonna make sure she doesn't need anything." She said

"Aww you are and heck maybe you even like having a baby sister." I joked and she smiled "Get out of here. Be safe." She said and I kissed her. " hi Julia. Bye Julia." I said waving to her in her room. "Bye jay!" She chirped and I giggled. As I was walking out I saw Kim just watching from a distance. "How are they holding up?" She asked "She's good. Settling into a new role." I said and followed her glance to Brooke and Julis laughing.

" she didn't forget about you, Kim. You're her best friend. She's never going to leave you behind." I said and she smiled " I'll see you at the district." I said and she nodded.
A few hours later platt came upstairs. "Halstead, visitor." She said and Julia was behind her. "Hey, Brooke okay? Are you okay? Should you put out and about?" I asked "Woah slow down, Jay. I'm fine and so is she. I needed some fresh air and wanted to see where everyone worked so she said I can come visit. I hope it's okay." She said "Of course it is. We'll give you a tour." Adam chirped. Adam and Kevin walked her around and told her stories. I was finishing up paperwork when she came by me. "They get to be too much for you?" I joked "No no they're nice." She laughed. She was looking around the room. "Alright, spill. what's up." I said " this job, how do you do it?" She asked "I mean especially married to someone with the same career. Brooke told me she's gotten hurt and everything but like... how?" She asked " I pray." I said and everyone listened.

Brooke POV:
I went to the empty shop that Julia said our dad owned. After a while she found me. " I figured since you weren't home you'd be here. What are you doing here, Brooke?" She asked

" I could have lived a whole different life. Not that I would want to trade mine for the world. I love Matt and Jay and everyone I've gotten to know. It's just...." I trailed off and she came to sit by me. "It's just things could've been different and trust me I wish they were too. Neither of us had a normal family and maybe it's for the better. I mean, it brought us together, right?" " I just wish it brought us together sooner, you know?" I asked with tears in my eyes. "Yeah. Me too. I could've really used an older sister to steal clothes from." She joked and I laughed "but we're here now." She finished and we just sat there for a while.
A month later...
"Well you are looking at the new Chicago med ER nurse!" I chirped walking upstairs where everyone was.
