Orange hued skies settled dusk,
Footsteps heavy against the crunchy leaves— rough gravel,
Streetlights flickering— barely lit pavement,
Step by silent step in the dark,
Your eight eyes never misses,
Two legs stepping fast as it multiplies,
Webbing your silken words,
Luring unexpected prey,
Detailed design on your trailing statement—

Beware of creepy crawlies,
Lest they are creepy entities tailing while dancing,
Wide smiles with sharp canines,
Feigning warmth, bright and burning,
The color of pumpkin unaware,
The taste of pumpkin spice wary,
Jack-o-lanterns and Jack Skellington,
All mingling with deception 🎃
