Second Person POV

As the sun sets and the day slowly ends, Toothless, as Hiccup named him, is moody and hanging in a tree, sleeping as a bat would. Hiccup comes over and sits next to you on the rock with dejection.

"Don't give up, Hiccup. Gaining trust with dragons is twice as hard as Vikings, especially when you shot him down." You explain while Mischief was enthralled with something, leaving you alone to sit on the rock.

"Yeah, I know," Hiccup sighs before you pass him a stick, and wordlessly you both start drawing your own little thing.

Hiccup starts drawing the Night Fury while you draw lines with no actual picture of what to draw. However, it starts to resemble a deformed dragon. You look over at the Night Fury Hiccup was drawing, noticing it lacks a neck and was just the head.
You wait for Hiccup to pause before drawing a line from the head down, focusing on your drawing as Hiccup also notices the lack of a neck.

After a moment, Hiccup tenses as he feels a hot breath on the back of his neck. Toothless sits on his hind legs and watches Hiccup finish the drawing. The Night Fury recognises it is him that Hiccup is drawing and decides to mimic him.

Toothless runs off, catching your attention, and breaks off a large branch before walking back on his hind legs. Mischief, losing interest in what he was playing with, lands on your shoulders, curiously watching Toothless with the two Vikings.

With the branch firmly in his mouth, Toothless starts dragging the finer tip through the dirt around the three. Toothless stops briefly, looking over at Hiccup for a second before putting a dot in the ground and continuing.

Toothless eventually stops outside of all the lines, leaving the other three in the middle. Hiccup stood up while you stayed seated, and Toothless dropped the branch, proudly nodding at his work.

Hiccup takes a step with his foot landing on a line of the drawing, causing Toothless to snarl, and Hiccup jumps back at the suddenness. Hiccup, being curious, steps on the line again.

And, yet again, Toothless snarls at him. After a few more times of Hiccup doing the same thing, Toothless growls more aggressively and puts a foot down.

"You're ruining an artist's work, y'know?" You state with a sly smile, Hiccup looks over at you and steps over the line causing Toothless to purr happily.

Your sly smile doesn't leave, having an "I told you so" moment over Hiccup.

Hiccup continues to step over the lines as if he is figuring out how to get through a maze, and though he didn't see it, you see where he is heading. Once he gets out of the labyrinth of lines, Toothless' breath hits his head, making him freeze up.
Hiccup turns while taking a step back, looking into the eyes of the dragon as all realms seem to go still.

Hiccup reaches out to touch him, but Toothless slightly recoils away while lightly growling, bringing his hand back. Hiccup starts to contemplate a completely insane idea, but his insane ideas have got him this far.

Hiccup looks away towards the ground with his eyes closed, putting complete trust in Toothless before reaching out again.
Toothless stays completely still, with Hiccup feeling Toothless' breath hit his hand. Toothless' gaze doesn't leave Hiccup's hand.

This Viking put complete trust in him, despite him being quickly able to kill him at the sign of any threat. Toothless hesitates before moving and placing his snout against his hand.

The realm seems to slow at that moment as the forest and water go quiet, and time momentarily pauses before Toothless moves away. The Viking and the dragon look at each other before Toothless snorts and rushes off.
