"Tell me why you're going to his house again?" Isha asked. She shut her locker and leaned against it.

"To plan the open day."

"The open day is a waste," Carmen snorted, touching up her wine red lipstick in the mirror on the inside of her locker door.

"Where's Jada?" I asked while running through the mess that was my locker to look for my notebook for history. I needed my notes to study for that damn test on Friday. I wanted to graduate this year but I couldn't even take care of a damn notebook.

"She skipped math. Said she had to deal with Jake."

Jake. Right. I knew he would leave me alone once Jada talked with him, but his existence still sent shivers down my spine. I couldn't stand the sight of him. There was a reason why I checked whether the door was locked three times after entering my apartment.

"Do you know where he lives?" Isha asked.

I shrugged. "Dunno."

"I wonder who moved out of Lakewood. I haven't heard anything about it," Carmen wondered.

"Well, someone must've so that the Weston family could buy their house," Isha said.

"You got the address?" Isha asked.

"No. He hasn't sent it in the group chat yet," I replied.

"Well, tell us after you're back from his place. I'm kinda curious who's house they bought. After you're done, we'll come pick you up if you want. And we can drive around and bop to some songs," Isha said.

I nodded and Isha and Carmen gave me a hug each before they left. I checked the time on my phone. It was still an hour left till 3 P.M, which was when we were going to meet up at Everett's place.

"I might as well take a nap," I mumbled and turned to head towards the library. However, I stopped short when Everett was approaching me with another one of those soft, friendly smiles of his plastered across his face. His hair fell in soft brown strands over his forehead and when our eyes met, his smile turned even more genuine.

"Hey. What you up to?" It struck me how casual he was with me like we had been friends for a while. Except we weren't.

"Library. Naptime."

Everett raised a brow. "I was gonna go to the library too, but it was closed and then decided to just head home and wait for you guys there, but then I saw you here. We can just head to my place now if you want to. The others won't be there until 3 P.M though, cause they all have one more period left."
