a burning emptiness
in the space besides me
a memory of warmth frozen
my fingers grasping shadows
hoping that your hands would
come bursting out from the dark
so i shape a version of you
from my last untainted memories
'cause it's better to believe
that you're here next to me
cradling this figment of you
a murky silhouette of grass
and indigo stained aster
slick with midnight dew
we're slow dancing in the meadow
like ghosts under starlight
