2 weeks later
June 3rd

It was two weeks since my training started and my muscles were being pushed to no another. I did volleyball in highschool, but I stopped this year so my body fell out of exercise.

But I grew.

Some of the teens were still wary of me, but many made small talk and helped me when I would mess up a move and for that, I respected them more. Romero gave me private lessons as well which helped me and I would soon have my basic combat training exam which if I pass would move me to Level 2.

I just finished my private session with Romero when Gabriel walks in, greeting Romero with a handshake.

"All done, princess?"

I scowl at his nickname to which he laughs.

We walk out the training room and into the June sun.

"It's been a month since you came."

"A month without Nile's word of letting me talk to him", I say bitterly.

"Correction, two weeks. He wanted to see if you would cooperate before he let you call him."

"I've done NOTHING but do what I'm supposed to. What else does he want?"

"You'll get your phone call then, Kiiara."

I take a sip from my bottle. "I'm going to ask him about it today."

The past two weeks Nile and I didn't talk much, but would send a lot of eye contact when I saw him in the cafeteria or here and there. He never made a move to speak to me.

Cafeteria

I pick at my salad, deep in thought till a voice snaps me out.

"Hey bitch, wake up."

Nina sits next to me, slinging her back to her seat.

"Hey."

"What are you thinking about?"

I shrug. "Random things."

She pulls out a Tupperware of a salad filled with a bunch of stuff.

"You made that?"

She looks at me and nods. "I don't like the cafeteria salads so some of us girls got some groceries and make them ourselves."

I nod.

She takes a bite. "You don't have a roommate right?"

I shake my head. "I guess they don't want me to make friends."

She furrows her brows. "Why  not?"

Crap, no one knows.

"Oh, I meant it as a joke. I don't know why I don't have a roomie."

She nods. "How's training now?"

"Still hard, but I made progress."

She smiles. "Attagirl. Training is all about progress. I'm an active agent and I still train."

"How are missions like?"

She finishes her bite and thinks about it. "Full of adrenaline, busy, calculative decisions, sometimes nerve wracking. I'm a distraction agent. "
