Chapter 29: A Kingdom

The Cloaks.

I've read about it during my stay in Esparago Clan.

The Cloaks are the five main ancestors of vampires. They are the ones who settled the revolution between humans and vampires. They are the creators of the Humans and Vampires Treaty.

They were untouchable. No one even knew their whereabouts.

Brix was aiming for them and there's only one reason why.

"I-I will stop him..." Nathalia stuttered. For the first time, she lost his composture. "This is ridiculous and out of our reach. Help me, Oscar. Help me stop him."

Nanigas ako sa kinatatayuan at hindi nakapagsalita.

"Oscar! T-they will come after him. Stop our brother!"

Oscar wagged his head. "No one can stop him at this point."

"No. I refuse to believe there's no way."

Napunta sa akin ang tingin ni Lady Nath. Hindi ito nag-atubiling lapitan ako. Mahigpit na hinawakan niya ang aking mga braso at seryoso akong tinitigan.

"I don't know if you are aware of what's happening—"

"I am," I cut her off.

"Then, do something, Astra. He will put everyone at risk."

Napapikit ako nang yugyugin niya ang balikat ko.

"Stop, Lady Nath. You are terrifying her." Hinila ako ni Erikson palayo kay Lady Nath. "Hindi niya hawak ang desisyon ni Brixton. Kilala mo ang kapatid mo—"

"I know him. He will listen to her!" Tumaas ang boses ni Lady Nath. "I just know he will. So..." Suminghap si Lady Nath. "This is where I am asking for your help, Lady Astra. I am begging you... stop my brother."

I stepped backward and shook my head.

Lady Nath looked confused with my answer.

"A-Astra!"

I shook my head again.

"T-that's actually cool, isn't it?" manghang tanong ni Nigel.

"Shut it, Mr. Hezuera," Erikson hissed.

"He can do it! He's Brixton Wenz Cardinal!" Nigel retorted.

Tinalikuran kami ni Nath at nauna na sa amin. Mabilis naman na humabol sa kanya si Lord Oscar. Naiwan kami nina Nigel at Erikson dahil nanatili akong nakatayo.

Napahawak ako sa braso ni Erikson nang manlambot ang tuhod ko.

"Hey. You good?" Erikson asked.

This was his plan all along.

I swallowed. "W-we should go now..."

"Kaya mo ba?" tanong pa ni Erikson.

It doesn't even matter at this point.

Binitiwan ko ang braso ni Erikson at tinatagan ang mga binti. I swore to trust him. He wouldn't risk everything for nothing. Alam niya kung ano ang maaaring kahinatnan nito at alam kong napaghandaan na niya 'yon.

"Let's go to the Dome now." Nauna na akong naglakad.

My heart was thumping rapidly against my chest.

Pagpasok namin sa Big Dome ng Luminous Clan ay katahimikan ang sumalubong sa amin. Sa pinakaharap ay may mga lalaking nakaluhod at nakatakip ng tela ang kanilang mga ulo.

"That's an act of treachery and the equitable punishment... is death," Lord Omino mentioned. Hawak nito ang kanyang matalim na espada. "Any last words?"
