Hermione tried her best to fall back asleep but struggled. She ended up just pulling out a book and reading it. Hermione tried to focus on the text in front of her, but her mind continued to wander, thinking about Lilith, her dream. Eventually, she became so frustrated with herself she slammed her book shut. She ran her hands through her hair and uttered quietly to herself,

"Why.." She laid down in her bed staring up at the ceiling, she began to reason with herself.

"She's just a friend, that all. Just a..." Hermione's mind started to wander again and she sat up,

"Stop, stop. No, She's nothing more than a friend." She was becoming increasingly frustrated with herself, she fell back on her bed. Eventually, her eyes fluttered shut and she fell back asleep. Hermione awoke to the bright sunlight hitting her face. She sat up to see Ginny tying her tie and finishing getting ready.

"Finally you're awake." She looked over at Hermione now pulling on her shoes.

"Sorry Ginny, I'll be right behind you, save me a spot at the table." Ginny nodded and ran down the stairs and into the great hall. Hermione got up to get ready and looked at herself in the mirror. She pulled herself together and quickly got dressed. She ran down the stairs and into the great hall.

She made her way over to the Gryffindor table and sat down across from Ginny. They started to chat about classes as Harry and Ron came to the table, Ron sat next to Hermione and Harry across. As Harry sat down Hermione noticed Lilith at the Ravenclaw table. She looked overlocking eyes with her, this time Hermione only smiled and waved slightly. Harry turned around to see Lilith waving back,

"Who's that Hermione?" Harry said turning back to her,

"Oh she's just a friend, I met her on the train yesterday." Harry only nodded before changing the subject, "So what classes do you guys have?" They spent the rest of the breakfast talking about classes, professors, and whatever gossip Ginny already had. Hermione would occasionally look over to see Lilith chatting with her Quidditch friends and some people passing by. Even though Hermione tried desperately to convince herself that Lilith was only a friend she knew that Lilith was far from that.
