Hermione's Girl Crush

Part 6: Jelousy

At a certain point towards the end of breakfast, Hermione watched as Lilith and a few teammates got up and left the great hall. Small groups of people were now starting to head to their classes or to meet up with friends before school starts. Ginny and a couple other Gryffindor girls had already left so Hermione sat there with Harry and Ron. 

"We should probably make our way to class soon." She said looking at Harry and then over to Ron who was still stuffing food in his face, 

"Well I'm not finished yet, Hermione." He spoke with his mouth full of food. Harry only shrugged and stayed seated next to Ron. 

"Well I'm leaving," She said somewhat sharply as she stood up and pulled her bag over her shoulder. She made her way out of the great hall and down the corridors of the castle. Eventually, Hermione passed by the courtyard, as she did she saw Lilith again with a few friends and some girls from all different houses. They were all over her. 

Hermione tried to keep her head down and look away but couldn't help but catch Lilith's eye. The taller girl waved at Hermione, motioning for her to join her and her friends. But Hermione dismissed this gesture and continued to walk towards the class. 

"Hey, Hermione." She heard Lilith call out, she turned around to see the taller witch just behind her. She looked at Lilith a moment, Her button-up was half-tucked into her almost perfect black pants. The sleeves of her shirt pulled up to her elbows, her tie was loose around her neck and the top buttons of her shirt undone. Her robe laid on her bag back with her friends 

"Yes," She spoke her words a bit sharp. Lilith smiled slightly and looked down at Hermione, "Just wanted to say hi, but seems like you aren't interested. sorry if I bothered you," Hermione hesitated a moment before speaking, 

"why would you want to talk to me, clearly you have plenty of other people to concern yourself with." this time Hermione's words were as sharp as a dagger. Lilith stood there shocked and her whole demeanor changed, 

"Because, Hermione you aren't boring like them." She was looking down at Hermione, her voice was full of care but all Hermione heard were the other girls giggling at the thought of Lilith. 

"Have a nice day," Hermione said before turning on a dime and walking away. As she made her way to her class she wondered why she acted so harshly, why was she so upset at Lilith having 'friends'. She didn't realize the immense jealousy she had.
