The Blue Moon/Full Moon

A/N So I'm starting this out with another full moon but it is very special, it is a Blue Moon. Blue moon's only happen on full moon's and happen every two to three years. We just had a blue moon on October 31st, 2020, Halloween! I really wanted to publish this before Halloween but I didn't get to it. Anyway here's the story.

Lewis' POV

Tonight was a full moon. Which meant we, as in the boys, have to keep the girls out of moon sight. I think the girls are still tired from yesterday when they fixed the moon pool, so they didn't argue about us boys coming over to Emma's house to help. I was heading to Rikki's Cafe to grab a drink and to do some more research before the moon tonight.

Once I got my drink I sat down at a booth and pulled out my computer. I then saw Cleo come in and she came over to me.

"Hey Lewis" Cleo said.

"Cleo! Hey, just working on what time the moon will rise tonight" I said.

"Cool" Cleo replied.

I scanned over an article.

"Hey, it looks like this full moon is special" I said.

"How come?" Cleo asked.

"Apparently tonight a Blue Moon is happening which is pretty rare" I explained.

Cleo pulled in closer. "It happens every two to three years" I said.

"Does that mean the pull of the moon will be stronger?" Cleo asked.

"I don't know" I admitted. "But I'll make sure nothing bad happens to you".

Cleo's POV

I was scared. Something about this Blue Moon was unsettling. I felt like today, or tonight, something bad was gonna happen. But I let that thought slither away when Lewis looked at me.

"So, does this moon change anything?" I asked.

"Not necessarily" I replied. "Everything will still be the same except of course what time the moon rises". 

My nerves settle down a bit.

Emma's POV

"I so would of beat you" Bella said.

"Like you had a chance" I laugh.

Bella rolls her eyes.

"I'm just glad the moon pool is back to normal" Bella says.

"Yep!" I reply. "Who knew fixing the moon pool would be so tiring?"

"I know right!" Bella said.

"I better head back to my house" I say. "I haven't exactly gotten the house to myself yet".

"Ok, see you Em" Bella said with a smirk. 

And I swam off.

Swimming in the ocean as a mermaid is so different than when you are swimming with legs. It feels magical!

Time Skip (Cause I can)

It was getting late and I finally convinced my parents to let me have the house tonight.

I just finish putting up some things when I hear the doorbell.

I walk over to the door.

"Hey Cleo, Lewis" I say as I let them in.

"I brought lots more things tonight" Lewis said.

"I thought you said nothing would be different" Cleo said.

"What?" I asked.

"Tonight is a blue moon" Lewis said. "And nothing to worry about, I'm just taking more precautions".

"Ok then let's get started" I say. And we all grab some supplies and head different ways.

After we finish I hear the door again and Rikki, Bella, and Will come in.

"Work on your timing" I said. "We just finished putting everything up".

"Woops!" Bella said. And then we all laughed.

A few minutes later Lucas came in and everybody was here! And just in time, the moon was rising soon.

"Sooo, just since we can't go outside doesn't mean we can't do something" Rikki said.

"Right just don't get too close to a window, just in case" Lewis said.

All the girls rolled our eyes, well except Cleo.

"So..?" Bella said.

"Have we ever had a normal full moon?" Cleo asked.

"I don't think so" Rikki said. 

"Which is why we should be super cautious." Cleo said. And then she started whispering. "I've heard legends of the Blue Moon. I'm afraid something really bad will happen if we go cray cray".

"Don't worry Cleo!" Rikki exclaimed. "Like those stories are not real".

Then the doorbell rang.

"I got it" Lucas said, since he was closest to the door. When he opened it we were curious who it was.

"Stay back". We all jumped as Lewis blocked our view.

"Yeesh" Rikki said.

"Rikki" Lucas said. "Ugh.. it's Zane".

"How'd he know we would be at Em's house. Whatever tell him scat" Rikki replied. I laughed.

We heard them talking when Zane pushed his way in.

"Zane this is my house, now get out!" I yelled.

"I bet your parents won't mind" Zane said.

"Actually, they will" I said. I had told my parents I was a mermaid while we were on vacation. And told them all about our adventures, and Zane, especially all his lying and sneaking.

That's when we heard the door slam shut and we turned away form Zane.

"Where did Lucas go?"  I asked.

"Stay here, umm, don't go ANYWHERE. Will and I will get him" Lewis responded.

"See what I mean. Lucas wouldn't just walk out of here without telling us where he was going" Cleo said.

"Maybe he wanted to get away form this brat" Bella whispered. That made us laugh, but only for a few seconds.

"Zane, just get out" I said.

Zane looked at Rikki. She gave him a blank stare and then smirked.

"Fine I was just going to help" Zane said as he walked out.

"I was just going to help" Bella mimicked. "Yeah right, more like make trouble".

I was in no more mood to laugh because then I heard my phone.

"Lewis?"

"What is he saying?" Cleo asked.

"Shh" I said.

"What??"

.....

"Ok we're coming"

....

"There's no choice!"

....

I then hang up.

"What did he say???" Cleo asked.

"He said, Lucas..had.. hurt him and Will. He also said he seemed kinda, moonstruck" I said. I don't know what was going on. Lucas had said he never had been moonstruck. 

"It has to be the BLUE MOON!!" I practically yelled.

"I told you something wasn't right" Cleo said.

"We beat the moon once, we can do it again!" I said.

"I haven't" Bella said.

"Oh..we'll help you!" I said.

And we ran out the door without another hesitation.
