Poem 22, by me

Sleep

The night sky twinkling with stars
The neighborhood is quiet, no honking of cars
The moon shines through a cloud, big and bright
Children cuddled in blankets, snuggled up tight

The streetlights cast a dim glow on the street
Fuzzy slippers on my feet
Hair still damp from a warm shower
Loving this 'ungodly' hour

From the window to my bed
A hundred thoughts in my head
Sleep tugs at me, it's the best
Now I lay down here and rest
