I woke up the next morning and Kaylin wasnt in my arms.
I got up, yawning, seeing her laying by the toilet.
"Kay"
"Hm?"
"Why yeen wake me up?"
"Cause you looked so peaceful"
I sighed, helping her up.
I sat her on the closed toilet seat and gave her her toothbrush with toothpaste on it.
We brushed our teeth and stuff before I checked the time.
12:48 pm.
"Cmon, it's almost time for me to go"
She pouted, grabbing into my arm.
She's supposed to be going with me but since corona happened and she's pregnant, most of her classes are online so she's just gonna stay here.
"Ima come see you and stuff, you already know that"
"But when you got games?"
"Ima be here Kaylin."
She nodded and I walked out the bathroom, carrying her with me.
My stuff was already packed and we put it in my dad's truck and some in mine and my mom's car.
Me, Te'a, and Kay got in my car and I sighed, knowing Te'a bout to take the time I got with Kaylin from me.
It was quiet for some time before Te'a said something.
"Rife?"
"Hm?"
"So what's your plan?"
"What you talm bout?"
"Like okay I know you can be back and forth for now but what about when basketball season starts? Y'all's season gon start close to when she's due.. either right before or right after."
I sighed.
"Ima be there."
"Okay but HOW? You gotta have a plan Rife"
"Look, all I know is, Ima come check up on her, ima be at the doctors appointments, ima be at the birth, and ima be there until she starts feeling better, okay? At this point I'm a dad before a basketball player."
"Mhm.. okay just checking to see where your head is"
Kay's hand slithered over to mine and interlocked our hands.
I squeezed hers and the ride was pretty much silent which was weird to me cause Te'a never stops talking.
We got to my dorm some time later and got out.
Kay limp/waddled out making me smile lowly.
I made her go sit down as me, my dad, and hers got my stuff out.
Everyone helped me unpack and went to go eat but me and Kay stayed.
"You gon be good without me?" I asked softly as she laid on my chest.
She nodded, playing with my chain, something she does when she doesn't wanna talk about something.
"K" I said, turning the TV on.
She turned it off, somewhat sitting on my chest.
"Wassup" I asked, wrapping my arms around her thighs and sliding her up.
"Just wanna enjoy some time with you"
"Mhm" I said, falling back asleep.
She smacked her lips, before laying down with me.
