when you finally got off him after cuddling in silence for a while, your arms felt empty.

you two quickly got home and he filmed more videos that day. you did one more with him, but he did a good 2 or 3 without you while you relaxed and played with spencer and spent some time alone.

it accured to you that you wouldn't be with ethan forever. though both of you lived in california, your homes were over an hour away and it'd be hard- no, impossible- to drive to see him everyday. and, while it was a cute idea, it was too early to move in with him. you still needed time. you had only met him barely a week ago.

which seemed crazy, considering you two had already fallen in love and made things official.

interrupting your thoughts, ethan walked into his bedroom, which was where you were currently residing. he sat down beside you and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.

"hey, eef." you giggled. he smiled back at you.

"so uhm. i know it's been a really long day, but i was wondering if you'd want to go with me to a little river just for an hour or two? it's only like ten minutes away as it's so cute there's a little bridge across the river and there's a swing on a tree and-" ethan paused, realizing he was getting off track. "just. uhm. would you like to come with me? you don't have to say yes."

"of course i want to come with you." you smiled and leaned against him. to be honest, you were getting tired, but the date idea was cute and non energetic.

his face lit up even more than it was. "okay! great! uhm, could you grab my guitar and throw it in the back of the car?"

"guitar? you play guitar?" you asked. you knew he sang on occasion but didn't know anything
about a guitar.

"yeah. i taught myself a couple years back. i wanna play something for you."

you nodded. that was even cuter. just when you thought ethan was done, he said one more thing.

"and. uhm. i feel like... i need to wear something other than a hoodie and jeans? do you have a dress i can borrow?"

another surprise. ethan wanted to wear a dress. okay. well, yeah, you did. but it was what you planned on wearing.

"i don't have one. but you can wear the skirt, if that's okay?" you pointed to the black skirt you had put on when you went out with ethan. he nodded.

you got up and easily slid it off your body. ethan watched intensely. you chuckled. "i'm not stripping for you, dingus. here's the skirt. find a black shirt to go with it- probably long sleeve- and tuck it in. you'll look cute." you handed the skirt to him as you talked. he nodded and left the room.

meanwhile, you walked to the guest room and opened up your suitcase. you never did unpack your things. oh well. the dress was the first thing there.

you pulled it out, shook it out until it was hanging from your hands flat, brushed a dog hair that had mysteriously got on it off and smiled.

oh, strawberry dress.
