⛈ Thunder ⛈

(Zander’s P.O.V.)

I open my eyes and am greeted by the sound of loud thunder as I recall that last night before I went to bed Hailey had told me that during the night and early morning it would rain, at the same time I hear a soft whimper behind me. I turn around to see Luke shutting his eyes tightly with tears in them while shaking

“Luke?” I ask concerned

Luke opens his eyes as the tears fall down his face

“Zan-“

Luke doesn’t get to finish as a giant sound of thunder yet again crashes in the sky outside, Luke whimpers again shutting his eyes once more with his tears streaming harder

“Luke......are you.....afraid of thunder?”

Luke stays silent for a few seconds, but then opens his eyes and replies with a simple

“Mhm”

The look on Luke’s face was heartbreaking. It tore my heart to shreds seeing him in fear, I wince a little bit before hearing another sound of thunder hit the sky. Luke out of fear hugged me and burried his head into my chest as his breathing became rapid, I hugged Luke back and ran my fingers through his hair humming a tune to try and calm him. Luke’s breathing soon became even again, he relaxed as his body loosened tense and he sighed letting me play with his hair. I look at the clock and then look back to Luke

“Babe it’s 4am, it’s to early to be up. You need your rest” I stuff my face into Luke’s hair

“I-I know, b-but.....I c-can’t sleep with thunder.....” Luke shakes again

I stay silent for a bit before an idea pops in my head. I let Luke go and sit up as I grab my headphones and phone from my shelf above and lay back down embracing Luke to make sure he knows I’m not leaving him alone with his fear. I unlock my phone and go to a app with sleeping music, I connect my phone to my headphones and put them on Luke.

“This will help Luke, now try and get some sleep puppy” I close my eyes

I start to drift off, but blush at Luke tightly hugging me and saying

“Your the best boyfriend ever, I love you”

I blink a couple of times then smile and close my eyes as I wonder how I got blessed with the angel in my arms.
