It is 10 years later 480 BC King Darius is dead but the Persians have not given up yet. The king's ambitious son Prince Xerxes plans to conquer Greece again. He gathers an army and navy to invade different from the way his father Darius attacked the Greeks. Xerxes promised that he would avenge his father by burning the capital of Greece, Athens, the cause of this barbaric behavior. This time he has brought with him the deadliest fighting force in all Asia 10,000 Persian immortals. He invades with an army of a quarter of a million men. He marches through a mountain pass called the Hot Gates (Thermopylae) however he is countered by a small band of 300 Spartans and their allies of 1,100 men.
