"Even if my heart stops beatin'
You're the only thing I need with me
Even if the Earth starts shakin'
You're the only thing worth takin' with me"

-Pretty Boy (The Neighborhood)

It's Not the End of Our Story Yet

I don't know why.
My body acted completely on its own.

As my aunt shrieked, the killing curse hit my chest in a flash of bright green.

I felt my body fall to the floor, going limp.

Cedric crying out beside me.

The Battle of Hogwarts.

It had begun.

Voldemort had appeared with his large group of death eaters in front of the bridge.

Neville Longbottom had been up at the front, when he came running back towards us.

The protection charm shielding us from them had started to fail.

They broke through.

Loud shouts and chants arose as Voldemort's followers charged toward the old castle.

There were too many of them.

And a variety at that.

Trolls, giants, wizards, witches, animals, and others.

Flashes of all kinds of defensive and offensive spells flew around us.

And then I saw her. My aunt.

"I told you didn't I? I would come back. And kill you, Diggory." She spit out in disgust.

"Avada Kedavra!"

I pushed him out of the way.

I don't know why.
My body acted completely on its own.

As my aunt shrieked, the killing curse hit my chest in a flash of bright green.

I felt my body fall to the floor, going limp.

Cedric crying out beside me.

"Fools!" She shrieked.

"One. Don't waste your life, full of potential, on a measly man."

Cedric dropped to his knees, sobbing over my dead body.

The world started spinning around in despair and grief.

I tried to warn him.
But I couldn't.

I couldn't do anything.

"Two. Never forget your surroundings. Especially in a situation of danger. Such as a great wizarding war."

"Avada Kedavra!"

No.. Cedric. You had too much to live for.. Your father. He had it all planned for you.

"But I don't care.
I'd throw it all away for you."

I turned to face him.

He smiled at me and reached out for me.
