Inigo's POV

The sun was shining directly into my half lidded eyes, just as I was about to fall asleep again. I was honestly devastated from yesterday.

Reason?

I had been carrying wood non-stop with my adoptive father, Chikyū, since we needed enough of it to sell on the market.
My body felt tired, and it hurt everywhere, but my arms hurt the most. But eh, I've tried worse.

I slowly got up, as I was looking out of the window.

Since I live in the mountains, not far away from my village, I could clearly see all the kids running around between the houses, laughing while playing.

It made me happy to see that people were enjoying life, just as much as I was every day.

I put on my purple-red colored kimono, along with my black obi decorated in white stripes and entered the kitchen.
My eyes instantly gazed towards my adoptive older sister, Akari, talking with my adoptive little sister, Sayaka, while eating breakfast.

Akari's face beaming when she realized I was awake.

"Good morning, Ini-chan! You have overslept today, haven't you? That's very uncommon!" She began, laughing a little.

Normally, I was the first one awake in the house. So yes, me sleeping for a long time was very uncommon. Even if I worked the entire day or not, I never overslept.

"Heh, I know. I probably went overboard with carrying wood yesterday.. "

Sayaka was just staring at the table, before she got up and left without a word.

" Honestly, I'm surprised how she still doesn't want to talk to you. It's been years without you guys interacting at all! "
Akari exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air.

I never understood either. Sayaka was so energetic and positive around everyone else, what was so different about me?

I sighed, looking at Akari with a disappointed expression on my face.

" Also, where is Kaiya? " I politely asked her.
" She is usually by the table every morning "

Akari was focused on eating her food while listening.

" Mother decided to leave early, since she has an appointment with somebody on the other side of the village.
She will return in a few hours "

Usually, Kaiya would always put some kind of small letter under my futon while I slept, before she had to leave. A note, telling me to take care and so on. I loved those kind of letters and always kept them in a shrine in my closet.
