Inigo's POV

" Akari, I'm back! "

I yelled, as I stepped inside the house, awaiting for an answer. The house was incredibly, yet oddly quiet.

" Huh, okay then.. "

I placed the basket with the fruits, which was almost empty, on the table and scanned my surroundings.

Nope. Nobody was home. Or so I thought.

" Ah, Sayaka! Have you seen- "

Sayaka, who was always out of the house, walked past me not even sharing eye contact nor greeting me at all.

" No, I haven't "
She causally responded with a low tone.

I looked over my shoulder. It was normal of her to respond this way, and has been doing that since we were.. literal babies.
Why can't she just talk to me a little bit though?

I entered the backyard, hopefully to find Chikyū nearby. Nope, he wasn't here either.

" How odd.." I thought to myself and placed a hand under my chin, letting out a worried sigh.

Since I clearly had nothing to do, I went back inside and took out my ink, brush, some thick paper and sat outside in the yard, starting on my painting.

Hours had passed, and the sun had begun to sink in the cloud-free sky.

I proudly looked at my work, admiring the details. The painting was showing a nice scene of a small flood with beautiful surroundings with flowers, trees and spider webs as well. Unlike some people in my village, I wasn't afraid of spiders at all.
In fact, I believed they were very interesting.
It was getting pretty cold outside, and I started to get hungry once again. Yes, for mangoes. I got back inside and shut the door, making sure I didn't forget anything.

" Akari? "

I yelled again, hoping she would reply. Yet, no response.

" Chikyū? "

Still no response. It was honestly getting creepy. They were usually home by now.
Of course, Kaiya was somewhere far away and would come back again in at least 24 hours, but where were the others?
