Inigo's POV

It has now been 2 days and I haven't left my room since the incident. I didn't want to come out. I didn't want to see Sayaka. Not even when we had breakfast, lunch or dinner, I stayed in my room almost starving myself. I didn't even dare to look out of my window.

' It's not my fault, It's not my fault, it's not.. my fault.. '
Was the only thing I kept telling myself. Sayaka's bold words were stuck permanently in my head like deep wounds.

It wasn't my fault.. right?

I knew it wasn't. Kaiya was literally a nurse, she could get infected by anyone. Yet, I still felt responsible. Like carrying a heavy stone on my back. If even Akari doubted then..

My stomach began to rumble a lot, stopping my head from thinking. I felt awful, both psychically and emotionally.
I missed eating mangoes with Mizuki. I missed talking with her and Akari. But most of all..

I missed Kaiya's warm and welcoming presence.

' Enough! I'm going out and eat. This isn't good for my health '

I told myself. Kaiya would say the same thing. I quickly opened my window, taking a small peek to check the time.

It's evening. The sun had already lowered itself on the sky, ready to switch with the moon sooner or later.

I slowly slided the door open, peeking out from the entrance. No one. Taking small and silent steps, I went to the kitchen and there was Akari sitting, facing the low table in the middle of the room like Sayaka usually did. Her sclera was red and she had black bags under her eyes. She hadn't been sleeping either.

There it was again. That heavy feeling. I didn't like seeing Akari like this. She was so cheerful and happy, now she just looked like an empty shell.
It's because of me, isn't it?

" A..Akari? " I stuttered while approaching her. She didn't answer, and just continued starring at the table. I placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

" Akar- "

" Don't..touch me.. "
