Giving myself up to keep the twins safe just seems like a fitting end to my run.
My hand slowly closed around the cold metal door handle. As I stepped out of the door the agents started shouting as about a dozen red dots appeared on my chest. I can't help but roll my eyes a little seriously, really overdoing it.
"Hands where we can see them!"
"On your knees!"
"Hands behind your head!"
I know this is horrible timing but I can't help myself. "So do you guys want me to let you see my hands or put them behind my head?" I wiggle my fingers teasing in the air. "Honest question here, fellows."
I don't know who fired but suddenly a gunshot sounded, I watched in slow motion as the bullet passed me flying straight through the open door towards two familiar blobs of brown hair sticking up from behind the couch. NO!
With a roar of desperation I spun around throwing out my hand to take control of the bullet stopping it a foot before it could reach its target. For a second it hung suspended in mid air before I released it letting it fall to the floor.
Then everything exploded into chaos. Forgetting any intention of surrendering I made a mad dash for the couch kicking the door close behind me as bullets began to tear through the house. Flying over the couch I tackle the twins, the floor curling my body protectively around them as bullets riddle the couch. Quickly I made a shield around us that would stop any metal from passing.
The sound of the guns is deafening as Lilly and Brian cling tightly to whimpering softly. I have never hated SHIELD more, I understand their precautions for me but opening fire on innocent children is unforgivable.
