{Disclaimer: this is based on me seeing Season 1 and about half of Season 2. This is obv a different story than in canon, so don't @ me pls.

Warnings: spoilers for Season 1 and/or 2 of OUAT, father!Bucky, I THINK language (I don't remember sorry)

Note: hi. I'm in the middle of a winter storm and idk how long it'll be till I update again, so sorry in advance if it's a month till I update.}

For his whole life, Bucky was never the one to let people in. He would always suppress his emotions and break down when he was alone. Then, Steve came into his life and all of that flew out of the window. That little skinny kid from Brooklyn was the first one he let in.

Then he fell off of a train.

After HYDRA had turned him into the Winter Soldier, he was numb and emotionless. There was nothing to let out, just the missions and the cryo-chamber. 

Then he ran away.

He had remembered for the first time in a while, and took the opportunity to run as far as he could. He ended up in Maine, where he stayed for many years before HYDRA found him again.

Then HYDRA took him back and he had to leave his new, peaceful life. He was brainwashed to the point that he never remembered a thing again. He was put in cryo again, and then went on the missions.

Then he remembered again.

He remembered Steve. He remembered the little skinny kid that he had to protect from bullies every day. He let him in again. There was no point of resisting, so he let Steve in and went with him.

They went to Avengers Tower, where he told Tony about that ONE mission, and they semi-peacefully worked it out.

-(But that was over a year ago, so let's get back to the present.)-

"Barnes, you with us?"

Bucky looks up and sees Tony with cards in his hand. Right. It was Game Day.

"Yeah, yeah I'm good. Let's play."

Steve gives him a look, but Bucky pretends to not notice it. He starts playing their Uno game, and quickly starts to win. When he puts down his last card for the fifth time in a row, the team groans and Tony just whines.

"How do you always winnnnnn? It's not fairrr!"

Bucky's about to reply, but he chokes on his words.
Grace. Paige.

"Daddy, how do you always win? I can never win at anything with you!"

"Uhh...I-I don't know. I guess I'm just good at games."

He abruptly stands up and turns around, confusing the rest or the team.

"I'll be in my room if you need me."

He quickly leaves the room and walks down the hall to his bedroom. When he enters the dark space, he immediately closes and locks the door.

"Hey uhh Friday?"

"Yes, Mr. Barnes?"

"Can you please disable the cameras and audio in this room?"

"Of course, sir. It is done. Is there anything else you need help with?"

"Can you look up a girl named Paige in Storybrooke, Maine?"

"Sure. Searching..."

The soldier sits on his bed and puts his head in his hands. He starts tearing up when Friday speaks again.
