Fourty Eight

I rush around. It's now Saturday and it's five am.

"Luca" i say slightly high pitch walking into his office to see him and Thea

"Lily what are you doing up?" Thea asks me

"I need to get these things sent off to Ahamid, then I need to get ready and prepared to go to a charity gala on Sunday. Have we got any boxes to pack up all of the supplies?" I ask quickly

"Why are you up?" Luca asks

"Oh I can't sleep, it's alright I might as well do something useful" i say, "I mean, I have to right? I've got to do something useful. Make an impact right?"

"Why can't you sleep?" Thea asks me

"Because if I rest, I then think and then I think about all the other shit that's going on and I don't want to deal with that so I'm just going to leave it in a little box in my mind that I'm going to avoid. So I'm just going to do good things for people to keep me busy" i ramble

"Lily darling, you need to rest" Thea says walking towards me

"I don't need to rest, I've got too many things to do and so few hours in the day" I say

"Honey, cancel her schedule for the week" Thea says

"No!" I exclaim loudly, "I'm going to let people down. I don't want to let anyone down"

"Your not going to let anyone down, sweetie" Thea says

"But I need to make my grandad proud of me and that's not going to happen without me doing nothing all day" I say

Thea looks towards Luca before looking back towards me, "honey, everything you do makes your grandad proud"

"How do you know?" I ask crossing my arms

"Because I never saw him as happy as he was when he was with you. You meant the world to him, and I'm sure that he'd want you to rest" Luca tells me

"But, I've got a date later on" i say, "and a gala tomorrow"

"we'll send your apologises to the gala, you can still meet Alex" she says and i smile

"Good because I like spending time with him" i say and she smiles

"But right now you need to sleep, when was the last time you slept?" She asks me

"Ummm..... Thursday" I say

"Thursday" she repeats with her eyes wide

"What have you been doing?" She asks guiding me upstairs

"Just buying all of this equipment for Ahamid and doing my work and homework" I say

"Okay... well that's all good but you shouldn't stress yourself out. You should take a break" she says

"Why is everyone saying that, first Alex now you" i say

"You should listen to your boyfriend" she says

"I would but he thinks I should take a few weeks off, to focus on myself. But I have far too much to do" i say

"Well, he's right" she says, "you need to focus on yourself"

"What's going on out here?" Izzy asks yawning

"Izzy!" I say cheerfully

"Whats up with her?" Izzy asks

"Can you help me?" Thea asks and Izzy rushes to the other side of me and wraps her arm around my waist

I stumble slightly, "can I tell you a secret?"

"Have you been drinking? Why are you so weird?" Izzy asks
