The weeks have just been flying by and I've been spending most of my time with Alex.

Just going on dates and spending time with each other. Time just freezes when I'm with him and I love it when we're together.

We just get on so well and it's never awkward. I'm just so comfortable around him.

But now I'm sat at the dinner table, "are you and Alex doing anything for valentines?"

"I don't think so" I say, "it's on Friday right?"

Lydia nods, "I'm getting a date over FaceTime"

"That's cute" Izzy says and she nods

"We're going away for a few nights" Thea says

"Please!" Izzy whines, "no more siblings"

Lydia and I laugh but the rest of the kids just glare at us.

I smile at them and they smile back.

"When are you going?" I ask them

"Thursday night, so I'll need you to take the kids to school" Luca tells Izzy and she nods

"I can do that" she says and I take a bite of my pizza

"Aren't you going on Saturday?" Thea asks

"Yes, three dates" i say

"Your still going through with this?" Izzy asks and i nod

"Im just doing this so that no one else in my family has to go through it" i say

"Well, as long as it's what you want" Thea says eyeing me wearily.

"Look it's what I want, so let's just leave it at that" i say

"Alright no need to get defensive" Luca says

"I'm not getting defensive" i say

"Yes you are" Apollo says

"Excuse me" i say standing up and I go to my room.

It's now Valentine's Day.

I told Alex let's not do all of the mushy shit at school which he was completely fine with.

I hate Valentine's Day, it's pointless.

He's thinks the same.

Alex and I walk hand in hand down the school corridors

"God look at all of these tacky decorations" i say

"I know, what a waste" he says

"There is no point in Valentine's Day" i say

"Exactly, why do you need a day to prove you love each other and show affection. It's weird and no one even knows the history behind it" he says

"I do" I say

"Of course you do, your smart and have to know about history and shit" he says and i laugh

"We'll do you want to know?" I ask

"If i must" he says

"The ancient Romans may also be responsible for the name of our modern day of love. Emperor Claudius II executed two men, (both named Valentine) on the 14th of Feb of different years in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honored by the Catholic Church with the celebration of St. Valentine's Day" i say

"Well would you look at that, all these people are celebrating the execution of two people" he says and I giggle

"I have a surprise for you later on" he says
