chapter 14

Julia's PoV

I was smiling thinking about my "interactions" with Lyle the night before. My desk mate, May was staring at me.

"Ms. Ruiz" my head cleared and I stopped zoning out "Would you like to tell us what had you do dapper today" my socials studies teacher said in an english accent. We were talking about the American Revolution so I guess it worked. Is shook my head

"Uh- no sorry sir" i'm pretty sure my face had gone tomato red by now and my teacher gave me a silent look pay attention please.

"Julia" my desk mate whispered to me "so there's a party tonight at Jamie's house do you wanna come over?" there had never been any parties at my old school, at least none that i'd been too.

"Sure" I whispered back. My first Beverly Hills party... sick! My class finished a few minutes later and I headed to lunch with May, passing Erik on the way. We looked up and made eye contact, but didn't acknowledge eachother in any way. That was... well not good... not good at all. I shook my head and kept walking with May.

Later that night

"Lyleeee cmon it's my first party I need to look nice" he had smeared mascara and lipstick on his face mocking you

"Okay princess" you glared at him jokingly of course

"pink dress" you said holding up the first option "orrrrrr lavender dress" holding up the second.

"I prefer none" he said grabbing your arm, twiriling you and sitting you on his lap then kissed you on the cheek. You kissed him back then broke free of his grasp "And I can't come why?" he asked again.

"Because your in college... and this is a highschool party" you shook your head at him "It's common sense really" you smiled

"Fine" he groaned "Lavender" you giggled excitingly as a horn honked outside signaling that May was here to pick you up. "Have fun" he sighed leading you out the door

Time jump to the party

We went through the door of the house and were greeted by who I assumed was Jamie and she immediately ran up to May

"MAYYY GIRLYY" she was already drunk visibly. They hugged and french kissed fancily. May took me over to the drinks and handed me a red solo cup with something in it.

"Drink" she said "Just some liquid confidence" and smiled. I downed whatever was in the cup and it stung the back of my throat doing so. I shook my head to the unfamiliar and unappealing taste. "Come on let's go dance!!" She pulled me by my arm to the "dance floor" almost pulling my arm out of its socket. She intermittently interrupted our dancing to get us more drinks every 10 minutes. It got so crowded on the dance floor and I had been given so many mystery drinks by May, I decided to go outside and get some air.

"Do you need a ride home?" I looked over at the person asking the question, it was Kade a football player at school. He was a complete stranger to me so I decided to respectfully decline.

"Uhhh noope no thanks" my words were slurring probably from the amount I had drank.

"Here" he grabbed my wrist rather forcefully and started leading me towards his car. This wasn't good. I tried to pull away from him but his hand was holding my wrist so hard, it wasn't helping until I heard a voice. It was too blurry to figure out who it was but I could make out what they were saying.

"Dude what the f*ck"

"Don't be such a tight ass were just gonna have some fun"

"No I got her"

"Whatever"

The person who had brought me over here walked away and I was picked up by a second person. I couldn't recognize them at first but I immediately smelled their strong cologne... it was Erik.
