Calum: (removes his shoes and makes his way over, seating himself next to his mum) is everything alright?
Joy: (laughs) of course. i just wanted to talk about what happened last night (quietly) with luke.
Calum: (nervous) nothing happened, mum. (pained) he was feeling a bit sick from jetlag and asked me to stay.
Joy: (smiles) he's a wonderful lad, you know? (reassuring) everything will be alright.
Calum: (sighs) how could you possibly know that?
Joy: (places a hand comfortably on Calum's arm) because mum knows best.
