description: there is a worst pain than unrequited love. it is seeing that person loving someone else (requested by: Harryp0tter0bession!)

It was the physical affliction that surprised you the most about being in love. Everyone talks about the emotions and the desires, never about how your body feels in love. How your stomach would cave into itself every time you saw him. How your heart seemed to run against your chest,  desperately trying to escape. You would find yourself lying in the fetal position most nights as you only felt comforted if your entire body appeared to fold into itself.  Harry Potter was the cause of all this. Every since you met him, Harry was conditionally loving and supportive. He was kindhearted and willing to do anything for you. He never judged you or made you feel like less of a person when you would divulge your secrets. Harry was one of your best friends and you were hopelessly in love with him. The painful love kind. In your heart of hearts, you knew Harry didn't feel the same. That his kindness and love was merely because he was a kind and loving person. It didn't have to do with harbored feelings like yours. And as much as it hurt, you couldn't help but continue to love him. So you settled being his friend while silently hoping that one day, your feelings would no longer be unrequited.

Everything Harry did, you were right there supporting him. And for everything you did, he was there alongside you as well. This was the nature of your friendship. So everyone Quidditch game, you were right there cheering in the stands. Seeing you in your typical seat gave Harry indescribable reassurance and warmth. Your presence inspired him to play his hardest and that he did. Soon, Gryffindor was leading heavily against Ravenclaw until suddenly Harry caught the snitch. Seeing your ecstatic face made Harry feel like he was on Cloud 9; that look from you was so much better than any win. Rushing down the stands, you made your way into the Gryffindor changing room with Hermione by your side. The curtains to the room were blowing in the wind, which revealed Harry to be right behind them. Your hand reached out to extend a greeting and words almost left your lips until you saw what Harry was doing. Katie Brown was standing next to Harry with her head in his hands. He was staring deeply and intently at her, as if he was studying every freckle on her face. Suddenly, he turned his head and began to close the gap between the two of them. At this, you turned and ran, not wanting to see what came next. You were halfway across the pitch when Hermione realized what had happened. She stood there, dazed and confused, until walking into the changing room to figure out what happened for herself.

The adrenaline coursing through your veins allowed you to make it back to your dorm in record time. There, you completely crumbled. How could Harry do that to you? Of course, he may not feel the same way but he had to have known you had feelings towards him. You weren't very sly that is. Bile rose in your throat as you made your way into the bathroom. The image of the two of them continued to play through your head, which only increased the nausea you felt. After several minutes, you stood, wiped your puffy eyes, and began to brush your teeth. Hermione suddenly appeared behind you and embraced you in a hug. What was left of your composure left as you crumbled into her arms. Several moments passed before Hermione spoke, "he's downstairs. Y/N, you should go down there." Immediately you backed away, physically repulsed by the thought of looking at Harry right now. You opened your mouth but no words could make out. Instead, Hermione just grabbed a tissue and began to wipe your eyes. All the liquid was gone from your body so no more tears could produce. She simply nodded at you and in the silent look she gave you, you realized that maybe Hermione was right. That you should go downstairs. He may have just made your heart shatter into a million pieces, but if Hermione thought you should do something, then she was most likely right. Taking a deep breath, you came down the stairs and saw Harry standing there waiting, just like Hermione said. You wanted to slap him, you wanted to yell, you wanted to cry, but instead you just stood there. Harry opened his mouth "I'm sorry Y/N, it's not what you think." At this, you rolled your eyes and began to turn around. "Just let me explain please." You turned back to face him, completely ready to blow him off. And yet, Harry's eyes were full of pleading and you couldn't help but turn to face him and whisper an okay. "Katie was hit by a bat just before we went into the changing room. She felt dizzy and she was slightly bleeding in her ear. What I was doing was looking to make sure her eyes looked okay, and then when I turned my head, I was actually just looking at her ear and seeing how bad the damage was. I know what it looked like, Y/N. But you have to believe me, never have I lied to you and never have I wanted to. If you don't, ask Katie. She will tell you the same thing. So will Ron, he was in there in the corner as well. I would never do to that to you, not to someone I care so deeply for."

A laugh came from your mouth, which made Harry jump slightly from surprise. "Merlin, I really am stupid aren't I? I'm sorry I acted in that way Harry, I believe you. Its just- when I saw you with Katie, it felt as if my heart was just rejected in my body. Never have I felt so sick. I guess that's what you get with love though. It made me completely irrational. I guess my heart just needs to be fixed", you said with a laugh. "I'm trying to". At these words, Harry stepped forward. He placed his hand ever so slightly on the small of your back, giving you room to move if you so desired to. You didn't, obviously, so Harry continued. He moved his other hand to rest gently across your face with fingers that felt like ice against the hot blush of your cheeks. Every movement was so very meticulous, it was obvious that Harry was not just trying to savor this moment, but make sure that it was perfect. The air was filled with heavy tension until it all released into a kiss as Harry finally made his way to your mouth. It was slow at first, hesitant, but as the awkwardness slid away, the desire crept in. Your hands with a mind of their moved into his messy brown hair as his moved to grip your waist. Teeth hit teeth, jaw hit jaw, hands hit body. It was passionate, it was uncoordinated, it was completely and utterly full of love. Harry first broke away as his glasses fogged up so much, he could feel the warmth against his close eyes. Silence fell between the two of you as Harry whispered into your ear "please let me continue to love you."
