"Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do"

"Y/N, what are you reading?" your boyfriend Neville said as he took a spot next to you on the couch. Wearing a light blue sweater and dark pants, pulled together with his bright smile, you couldn't help but notice how nice he looked today. "It's an old book from my childhood, one of my favorites. I just like to read it sometimes when I miss home. You also look very nice today Nev." He blushed and bashfully smiled, you loved making him slightly embarrassed by compliments and seeing the red in his face. He rarely received them before you were together and you were determined to make up for lost time. Neville moved closer to you and took a peek at the cover, "Alice in Wonderland? I've never heard of it." Laughing slightly, you weren't surprised. "Nev, it's a muggle book. That's probably why you haven't heard of it." Understanding filled his features as he nodded his head. When he asked you what it was about, you smiled and told him he should read it for himself as you didn't want to spoil anything. Neville frowned a bit when suddenly he got a look upon his face, "Y/N how about we read it together?" "Like me read to you?" you smiled. Neville nodded with a flush on his face. You opened the book back up and began to read the beginning of Chapter One ago. Neville started to cuddle into your side as your voice filled the Common Room. The fire made the air perfectly warm and the moment was spent in utter bliss.

"Wake up, Alice dear!' said her sister; 'Why, what a long sleep you've had!' 'Oh, I've had such a curious dream!"

"It was all a dream? What? What kind of ending is that?" His face was full of shock and you couldn't help but laugh. "Oh cmon Neville! Wasn't it absolutely wonderful? See we are surrounded by magic everyday now but as a kid this was magic to me. I absolutely adore it. Did you not like it?" He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. "No, no! I loved it Y/N! I was just surprised about the ending. It was truly amazing, I loved the rabbit the most I think. Thank you for sharing it with me." Neville smiled sweetly and you both enjoyed the lovesick company of each other.

Potions class just finished and you and Hermione were taking your time back to the Common Room. Stepping through the portrait, you both were suddenly greeted with stacks of books all over the couches. And right in the middle of them was your boyfriend with a wild smile on his face. "Nev, why are all these books here? What's going on?" Neville's face started to gain a familiar blush as he nervously scratched the back of his head. Stuttering, "well I um, I thought well. I found some some other Muggle books from the Muggle studies professor and I thought maybe you could read them to me? Like we did with Alice in Wonderland." He shuffled and you could tell he was so nervous waiting for your response. It was one of the sweetest, most pure things you had ever heard. And of course you said yes.

For weeks after, this become a very common occurrence with the both of you. Together you successfully finished "Catcher in the Rye", "The Great Gatsby", "Frankenstein", and "Great Expectations" (all books you had brought with you to Hogwarts as they were your favorite). While "Catcher in the Rye" was your personal favorite, Neville was quite keen with "Great Expectations". When the Common Room was too packed or quite noisy, you would move into his dormitory and once even the Room of Requirement. Eventually Neville decided he wanted to read you his favorites starting with, of course, "Tales of Beedle the Bard". Through these books, you began to learn new things about each other. Neville also started to gain a fascination of Muggle culture while you were gaining an appreciation for the Wizarding World culture. The times you spent together, curled up with book in hand and words in the air, were both your favorite times. It was the simplicity and comfort of just being in each other's presences. The more and more you read together the silent agreement came that you would do this forever. And so you did.

A/N this just came to my head and I thought it was a cute concept, sorry its a lil short!
