011. crash landing into an argument

BARBIE REALLY did wonder what had happened in the ice castle because both piper and jason looked way to apprehensive about it. in fact, piper hadn't physically relaxed until the glow of quebec city had fully faded. sighing slightly, she moved away a piece of her hair as she heard jason compliment piper. the two of them spok for a few moments as barbie stared out at the scenery around them. for somebody who was on a quest with four other people, barbie felt terribly alone. leo had already seemed to bond to cherry and piper and jason were practically married. and as jason explained exactly what happened, barbie couldn't help but just not listen. it wasn't her fault (entirely) and she never meant to ignore what was happening, it was probably really important but barbie hadn't really listened.

"i still can't believe khione," leo pouted, "she looked so nice."

"trust me man," jason spoke, "snow may be pretty, but up close, it's cold and nasty. we'll find you a better prom date."

barbie laughed slightly at this, adding, "cherry'll probably go with you."

piper stared back at her, a frown on her face and barbie looked away quickly, "i mean, uh- whatever. um.. good on you guys for being brave enough to face all of that."

"at least we did something," she heard piper mutter. which... did hurt. but piper wasn't exactly wrong. if anything, she was absolutely correct. barbie hadn't actually done anything so far. she hadn't found out anything to help them and she hadn't even faced what jason and piper had. there it was again, her fatal flaw. the doubts within her mind clouded around her as she bit into the sandwich jason had passed her. somehow, leo had managed to find supplies of sandwiches, and to be honest it was pretty good.

"hey jason?" she said, yawning slightly, "look man if my head knocks your back don't move or anything- i'm extremely tired dude- so... y'know, don't be worried if i fall asleep on your back."

"umm... okay?"

"don't get territorial pipes," she mumbled sleepily, "i have a boyfrien'... 'kay?"

perhaps falling from the sky wasn't the best thing ever. actually, correction, falling from the sky is probably the worst thing anybody can experience. barbie woke from her nap to find herself falling. she let out a shrill scream, her mind panicking and her heart beating faster than it ever had. she let out a loud yell before she pushed her hands down, trying to form a pink mist beneath her to try stop herself from falling. she saw cherry screaming too, her braids flying everywhere. a small static looking cloud cushioned barbie's fall for a few moments and barbie pushed herself to try and catch cherry. it took a lot of effort, but barbie managed to catch the both of them.

"what the heck is happening?" yelled cherry as she looked around in panic, her eyes widened, "we just-"

and then the cloud broke.

the two of them began to fall again, and barbie heard leo scream frantically, trying to grab at clouds as he yelled, "not cooooolll!"

they shot past jason and piper, who were clinging onto each other, trying to make their way to leo. barbie let out a loud curse word before she managed to form another small static cloud once more. cherry and barbie looked at each other in relief before the cloud broke again. it seemed her powers weren't strong enough at the moment to actually catch the both of them and soften their fall fully.

it wasn't free falling any more, but more like they were bouncing down the biggest staircase ever. they'd fall a few hundred feet before they'd be cushioned by a pink cloud barbie would try form again, before it broke again and they'd fall once more. as they wobbled and zigzagged, with both cherry and barbie cursing loudly, barbie was able to make out what looked like a factory.
