Chapter 5

Me:"I know, I thought it could be easier."

Kat:"I'm sorry..."

Me:"I'm not blaming you. Just the circumstances."

The thing is, our task revealed to be trickyer than we thought.

The guards were all over the place, in every corner, and the only way we had to get through them without been seen was, well...wall walking.

And it wasn't a big trouble...for Kat. On my side, my chains were to noisy so she had to carry me.

The thing is since she had a 'passenger' she consumed her energies fast, so she dropped me time by time.

And did I mention we were right above the dark abyss below?

Kat:"If only I could control this power better..."

Me:"(Whispering) We're in the same boat then..."

Kat:"What did you say?"

Me:"Nothing. Just wondering what is this thing."

Lying on the ground was some sort of big gem.

Kat:"Who knows. Maybe it's part of Syd's plan?"

Me:"Guess it's time to call for him and find out."

I grabbed the walkie-talkie and turned it on.

Me:"Hey Syd, do you copy? We're on the place, what now?"

Syd:*Alright...can you see the park from there? On top of that fish statue in the middle is the sacred gem Alias is after.*

I gave a look below. The gem was there, without any form of protection but the guards.

Me:"Seriously? If it is so important why leaving it outside?"

Syd:"That gem's been protecting the city for a long time...we can't afford to lose it now with all these storms. Legend tells of a great power hidden indide it..."

Me:"An other good reason to keep it somewhere safe, like, not here."

Kat:"Yup, I agree."

Syd:*That thing by your feet is the fake gem I made. I'm going to raise a bit of ruckus to draw the police away; that'll be your chance to switch the real gem with the fake one. Got it? Good. Later!*

Me:"Hey, what are you-"

But he already closed. Still hard to believe I never burned him.

Me:"So he basically wants that we steel the gem!"

Kat:"Syd's plan sounds terrible. I hope nothing goes wrong..."

Me:"The plan itself isn't bad, but he should had talked with his superior about it."

Kat:"So now what?"

Me:"Now we move, look! The guards are leaving. Syd drew them away."

Kat:"Off we go!"

I used the chain as a rope and sliding on it we reached the statue in a flash.

Me:"I help you climb it, you switch the gem."

Kat:"No problem."

Using my shoulders, she removed the gem and replaced it with the fake one.

Kat:"It seem a normal gem. Are we sure it has powers."

Me:"Who knows. Maybe it's just a legend."

Anyway, I prepared to call Syd again.

Me:"The switch is complete, what should we do now?"
