Chapter 42

I can lock the door to the apartment but that won't stop the men for long. They have hand grenades with them that will be able to take down the door. 

I rip open all the draws around me, hoping to find a gun or even a knife but to no luck. 

"Crap. Okay think, think, um, no that wouldn't work" I whisper aloud to myself thinking about hiding. Hiding could keep me safe but i need access to this room to keep the others safe. 

Lucas.

I see Lucas and Leo running across the cameras, going for the stairwell 9 floors below me

I can't talk verbally through these cameras because they don't have microphones but i can turn on the lights. 

Just before they get to the stairwell i flick the lights three times. 

They both stop in their tracks and look at each other then up at the security camera in the corner. 

I allow power back to the elevator and the green light above it flicks on. 

They get my signal and run into the elevator pressing the button to go to the top. 

The five men are now only 3 floors below me. 

I lock the door to the apartment. I can feel my pulse quickening.

The elevator and the door way from the stairwell open right next to each other in the apartment. 

If the five men get here before Leo and Lucas then they will blow the elevator fuses as well as the stairwell door, which would result in Leo and Lucas falling about 40 floors to the ground. 

The elevator is now 4 floors below me

The five men are 2 floors below me 

I quickly run to the kitchen to grab a knife then run back to the computer room and lock the door behind me. 

"Hurry up" I whisper stressed. 

The elevator is 1 floor below me 

"Let us in!" A large voice yells from behind the stairwell door 

I need to stall them

"I  am coming!" I yell in my best attempt at impressioning Igor

"Lia!" Lucas yells out as the elevator door opens, "where are you?" 

"Run away from the door!" I yell running out from the computer room 

They run towards me and just as they do we hear a bang and the door being kicked open 

Before i can understand what is going on gunfire erupts

"Hide!" Lucas shouts at me and moves to stand in front of me 

I run back into the computer room, cursing Igor for not having a gun in here

As abruptly as the gunfire starts, it stops 

 "How's everything going?" Leo asks in his most casual voice, standing in the door frame 

"Wh-what" I say back, bewildered at his calmness

"With the others, how is it going for them?" He asks as he walks into the room 

I turn back to face the computers and bring up the French woman. 

"She's such a badass" Leo says as we watch her shoot her gun hitting a man straight in the head while looking the other way, "show me the American guy" he says and i bring up the guy

Him and his team are doing fine and so next i bring up my Dad and Roman who are defiently not doing fine. 

"Shit" Leo says, "Their outnumbered three to one. We need to get down there" 

Lucas walks in and hands me one f the Russian guys guns. "Where do we need to go?" Lucas asks Leo 

Leo points to the computer screen and Lucas then shares the same expression of stress as me and Leo 

"You guys go. I need to be here to control everything" I say 

"No way. What if someone else realises who's controlling everything" Lucas says, "move for a second". I get out of the chair and Lucas takes my place 

"What are you doing?" I half shout at Lucas as camera footages are disappearing from all of the screens 

"I'm making it that this laptop has full control" he says concentrating on what he is doing, "okay, i'm done. We should go now" he says and gets up from the chair, carrying the laptop

I won't lie, it annoys me that I hadn't thought of that 

We all run to the elevator jumping over the five men only to see the damage done by the hand grenade.

"Stairs it is" Leo says as we start to run down them

Sorry about the short-ish chapter 

Also, i need your help. I was literally sat for 20 minuets trying to decide whether Lucas and Leo sounds better than Leo and Lucas. It really doesn't matter but i just can't decide and it's annoying me. Thoughts?
