"Hmmmm...."

Taking sought of the intense sunlight, Chouchou and Mitsuki sat beneath a water tank from a hospital's roof. Long story short, they have been meaning to meet as they always do, but their missions have been irregular enough to never find a free space to see each other. In a couple of hours, Chouchou will have to meet the rest of Team 10 and Mitsuki has been requested to go back to Orochimaru's hideout for a monthly checkup.

"What about... Mikki?"

Mitsuki frowned

"Do we really need nicknames?"

"Well, yes? Friends do that, right? Remember what uncle Sai said?"

"...You mean Yamanaka-sensei?"

"He said giving nicknames between friends reinforces their bonds."

After the events of her birthday, Chouchou wanted to make sure Mitsuki understood he was an important friend to her.

"I see."

His frown still remained

"But Mikki seems to be out of character for me."

Now Chouchou was frowning

"Sometimes you are really complicated..."

Chouchou kept thinking and thinking

"And Mitsu?"

He heard it and wanted to chuckle

"It sounds... strange. Can you repeat it again?"

"Mitsu, Mitsu, Mitsu, Mitsuu~?"

Mitsuki laughed half closing his eyes, there was something really charming in how she said it

"Alright, let's have Mitsu then."

"Yes? And what about me?"

Mitsuki looked back at Chouchou. She had these bright, pretty eyes perhaps anticipating something amazing

"I think I prefer Chouchou."

"Huuh? That's... Uh..."

"Careful with the b-word, Chouchou!" she thought, covering her mouth.

"Boring?"

She scratched her cheek as she was caught

"Yeah..."

His view dropped

"Even if you think it is, I like it that way."

"I like how your name forms on my tongue, I like how it sounds and what it means."

"I cannot think of anything better than Chouchou, sorry."

"Mitsuki..."

Chouchou was genuinely touched, but also upset. Of what? Who knew?

"Ahhhh!! Mitsukii!"

She stood abruptly and stroked exasperatedly his hair making it messy. Mitsuki just kept being still not knowing for sure what was she trying to accomplish with this.

"Careful, your words can be too sweet sometimes."

Chouchou gave one last stroke feeling his soft curls below the palm of her hand before she removed it

"...Gotta go, Mitsu. Take care!"

Mitsuki watched how Chouchou jumped down the roofs of the nearby buildings until she reached the road that would take her to Konoha's downtown. When she was out of sight, he brought one hand to his head, trying to fix his hair

"I figured that much."

"You need sweetness to lure a butterfly."

Mitsuki said with a smile on his face.
