~Kenzie's POV🌹~
It's now been a week later, and Mer took me to the doctor. And when she did, Annie, Lauren, Maddie and John all came. It was pretty awkward going to the doctor with four other people with me, but it was fine. We did get weird looks from other people though. Probably wondering why a woman would have five teenagers with her. But they were all just worried about me. Which I found pretty nice.
I had to wear a brace around my ankle, but other than that, my ankle was healing fast, and I was able to go to school. I even went to school before I got the brace just so Annie wouldn't say anything she isn't supposed to at school. I mean she has learnt pretty quickly how to control what she says.
When I still couldn't move my ankle. I stayed in John's bed for at least four days straight. It sucked. But I finally got my answer. He did like me back. But we haven't become official. I think it's just me not wanting to commit because I know Lauren hates us together.
Whenever I saw her, she would just look at me. She wouldn't say anything. And it's because I'm staying with John. I need to fix it with her. But I don't want to leave John.
Some nights we would talk till the sun came up. Others we would just lay together and not say anything. But I just don't want to lose my best friend over her brother.

I knocked on Lauren's bedroom door in the morning. She replied to come in. I opened the door and she saw me
Lauren:Oh, it's you
She turned away from me and reverted her attention to her laptop in front of her
I close the door behind me and sit at the end of her bed
Kenzie:Look, I know why you're mad at me and I don't blame you
Lauren:Good. Because you promised
Kenzie:Promised, when?
Lauren:When we were little. You don't remember?
I shake my head slowly
Lauren:You and Maddie were over at our house and you guys were playing house with me, Maddie, Darian and John. It was all fun and games until you suggested we had a wedding. Then my sisters and your sister thought that you and John could pretend to get married. It was fun at the time. Then you told John that you guys were too young and that you guys could be together when you were older. Later that day, I told you that you couldn't marry John when you guys got older, and you promised me you wouldn't
I just look at Lauren. Speechless
Kenzie:Oh, wow
Lauren:Yeah. Kenz, he's bad for you
Kenzie:How?
Lauren:He's my brother
Then it hit me
Kenzie:Wait! Are you jealous?
Lauren:No, why?
Kenzie:You are a terrible liar
Lauren:Fine
Kenzie:So, tell me. Why are you jealous?
Lauren:If you guys ever do start something together...you won't spend as much time with me as you would with him
Kenzie:How could you ever think that?
Lauren:Because whenever you came over when we were younger, we labelled him as "my mean older brother" we both didn't like him
Kenzie:I'm so sorry
Lauren:It's fine...kinda
Kenzie:Are you okay with it though? Cause ever since I moved in there...you didn't want to talk to me
Lauren:Because he was my mean older brother, Kenz
Kenzie:Are we good though?
Lauren:Yeah, we're good
I pull her into a hug. That's when Annie came in
Annie:Oh! Are we hugging
Annie joined in on the hug. She just loves interacting with people. Especially hugging.

It was a couple days later. It was after school, and we were all chilling outside, when I got a text from mom. I checked it and...
Mom:Hey, I have some news for you. Brad proposed to me. And we plan on having our wedding in the spring. Tell Maddie
I just looked at my phone. This can't be happening. I look around at everyone talking and laughing together. Including Maddie.
I just go inside so I can process what just happened.
I went upstairs and into John's room. I closed the door behind me and sat at the end of the bed. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I started to breathe really heavy and fast. It was scary. I then couldn't control myself and started crying. Crying till my eyes hurt. I put my head in my hands.
How could she just do this? How could she not tell us beforehand. That she would be going on a trip with Brad and getting proposed to. She must have known. She must have known this entire time. How could she?
I then could feel someone sit beside me
???:I'm here for you, Kenz
I look up and see Annie smiling at me and bringing me into her arms. I wrapped my arms around her and cried some more. Breathing heavier and heavier by the minute.

~Annie's POV👼🏼~
Kenz went inside and didn't say a word. She looked stressed. I hope she is okay. I slipped away from everyone and followed Kenzie inside. I found her crying and breathing really heavy. I sat beside her and brought her into a hug. She was crying and crying and I didn't know what to do. But I just told her to breathe and that I was with her. It then hit me.
Kenz was having an anxiety attack. Once I figured it out, it even scared me. But I had to be strong for her. Make sure she was okay. She then stopped crying and let go of me
Annie:Are you okay, Kenz? What happened?
She looks at me with glossy eyes. She wipes her eyes on the sleeve of her hoodie. And looked at me
Kenzie:My mom and Brad are getting married
Annie:Oh my gosh
Annie:Kenz, i'm so sorry. Did he propose to her during their trip?
Kenzie:Yeah. And she didn't even text Maddie. She was probably worried that she would fight back with her and would try and convince her not to get married
Annie:Are you better now?
Kenzie:Yeah, a little bit
Annie:It'll be okay
Kenzie:You sure? Because I don't think I can forgive her
Annie:Just give it time
She nods and sighs. I seriously don't know if it is going to be okay for her. She is going through so much and I just hope I can protect her through it all.

It was now night time, and I was getting ready for bed. Lauren was already asleep, and I was brushing my teeth. I then got a text.
Hayden💜: Come outside rn
Annie👼🏼:Why?
Hayden💜:Just come pls
Annie👼🏼:Ok
I placed my toothbrush down, grabbed a hoodie and went outside. I open the backdoor and see Hayden. Standing in the backyard. There were roses everywhere and fairy lights lining the trees. He was holding a single pink rose and I walked over to him
Annie:Hayden, what is all this?
He smiled at me
Hayden:This is all for you
Annie:For me?
Hayden:Yep
He hands me the rose and grabs my hand
Hayden:Annie, would you be my date to the dance?
Annie:Me?
He chuckles at my idiotic question
Hayden:Yes, you
Annie:Ok, yes
He smirks at me and hugs me. I hug back.
Annie:Wait
He lets me go
Hayden:Yeah?
Annie: You seriously want to go with me?
Hayden:Yeah, is that a bad thing?
Annie:No, I just...it's just unexpected
Hayden:Well, that's why we work. Because we're unexpected
I smile at him he then pulls me back into a hug

~Kenzie's POV🌹~
We only had a few days left at the Orlando's and it's honestly been the best. I was going downstairs, when I walked by Lauren's room and saw Annie putting a bouquet of pink roses in a vase on Lauren's desk. So I walk in
Kenzie:Hey, Anns. Whatcha doing?
Annie looks at me
Annie:Um, nothing
Nothing?
Kenzie:Who are those flowers from?
Annie looks at the flowers with loving eyes
Annie:They are from...Wishful View
Kenzie:Why would they send you flowers?
Annie:They're from somebody there
Kenzie:Ooh! Does Annie have a boyfriend back home
I sit at the edge of Lauren's bed and she looks back at me
Annie:I wouldn't call him my boyfriend. We aren't dating
Kenzie:Oh. Then why did he get you flowers
Annie:Because...it's our 13 year anniversary of knowing each other
Kenzie:That's cute. So what is he to you then?
Annie:Well, I'm supposed to marry him when I'm 20. But I don't see him that way. He is more like a brother to me since we've know each other for so long
Kenzie:What happens if you don't marry him?
Annie:I don't know. But i'm sure it will be fine if we do get married.
Kenzie:Anns, you can't marry just because
Annie:But I love him
Kenzie:Like a brother
Annie:Well, yeah
Kenzie:Anns, I don't think you should marry him
Annie:Why not?
Kenzie:You want the kind of love that gives you passion, that can make you weak to your knees and fall head over heels for that special person, the kind of love that makes you giddy and go crazy for said person, the kind of love that gives you goosebumps and make your toes curl from the slightest touch from them, the kind of love that you feel adrenaline rush through your veins when you guy's do something special or adventurous, the kind of love that you know you want to spend the rest of your life with this person, not anyone else, just them and then only. Does he make you feel butterflies whenever he enters the room? Does he make you laugh and smile till your stomach hurts? Does he make you appreciate the bond you guys have? Does he understand you? Does he make you happy?
Annie just looks at me
Kenzie:Because if he doesn't...then that's not love. And not brotherly love
Annie:I don't love him like that
Kenzie:Then he isn't the one to marry
Annie:Then what do I marry for?
Kenzie:You make sure you marry for love and only love.
