~Kenzie's POV🌹~
As the day went on, Annie said the same speech she did this morning three times again. And I got tired of having to stand up again and again and again. Until it was lunch. And we were going to our lockers after math class
Kenzie:How did you find math class? It's pretty difficult right?
Annie:Oh, I didn't find it terribly hard. I mean I enjoyed it! It was a challenge
Kenzie:Oh, we'll that's good
We get to our lockers and continue talking about our classes, when I feel a peck on my cheek. I turn and see Isaak who was smirking at me.
Isaak:Hey baby, what's up?
Kenzie:How did you get out?
Isaak:They let me go
Kenzie:That's just-
Annie:Terrible! I mean you deserve to stay there
I turn to Annie who had her arms crossed.
Isaak:What?! Who is this girl and what the hell is her deal?!
Kenzie:Umm...
Annie:I'm A-
Kenzie:We gotta go!
I slowly shove Annie towards the cafeteria
Annie:That guy is already getting on my nerves
Kenzie:Well, just ignore him please. The last thing I want is for him, out of all people, to find out...you know?
Annie:Right
We get in line for our food and I show Annie the different foods, we then go and sit with my friend group.
Kenzie:Hey girls!
All:Hey Kenz
We sit down
Maisy:Who's this?
Annie:Oh! I'm Julianna Gra-
Kenzie:Annie! Her name is Annie, she is a friend of mine
Annie:You all must be Maisy, Nadia, Emily and Ruby!
Emily:Yes! What about Lauren?
Annie:I met Lauren this morning, but I haven't met you guys. It's a pleasure
They all look at Annie weirdly as I sigh inside
Kenzie:Uh, Annie is actually from California!
Emily:Ooh! What was the highest temperature it's ever gotten?!
Annie looks at me then back at Emily
Annie:Like...30 degrees
Nadia:That's really hot!
Annie:Yeah, I know right
Ruby:Hey guys? Who are you going with to the back-to-school dance?
Nadia:Well, I'm going with Aiden...but he still hasn't asked me yet
Nadia sighed and picked at her garden salad
Maisy:I'm thinking of going solo!
Emily:Then I think I'll join you
Maisy:Sounds fun
Lauren:Who do you want to go with Ruby?
Ruby:Well...i don't know. I don't think he likes me that way
All:Dakota?!
Ruby:How did you know?!
Nadia:Sis, we've seen the way you look at him in the halls. We know
Ruby:But he doesn't like me that way. I just know it!
Maisy:Just ask to go as friends
Ruby:That's worse!
We all just laugh
Emily:So Kenz? Are you going with Isaak?
Kenzie:I don't know yet. I mean he has been quite the jerk these past couple days
Annie:I told you
We all look at Annie
Annie just turns her focus back to her food
Maisy:Well, I don't think you should go with him
Kenzie:Why not?
Maisy:Because everyone at this table ships you and Johnny
Kenzie:Really?
Lauren:Umm...i don't!
I look at Lauren
Lauren:Sorry not sorry. I mean I love you Kenz, but John isn't the right person for you. He is honestly so annoying
Ruby:Well, that's cause you're his sister! Kenz and Johnny seem perfect together
I blush in response
Annie:Hey Kenz? I need to go to my locker and grab my water bottle
Kenzie:K, I'll come with you
Annie:No, I'll be fine
Kenzie:Annie?
Annie:Don't worry, I'll be back before you can say angel
All the girls look at her as her face turns a bit red from embarrassment
Annie:Uh, I'll be back
Kenzie:Annie, wai-
And she was gone just like that
Maisy:Why are you so worried about her?
Ruby:Yeah! And what was with the ang-
Kenzie:It's just she is new to this whole school thing. She was homeschooled in California, so she isn't that experienced with actual schools
Nadia:She'll be fine
I slowly nod. I don't think so. I hope she doesn't say anything stupid.

~Annie's POV👼🏼~
I don't know why Kenzie was so worried about me. I'm pretty sure I can find my way around.
I find my locker then as I approached it, I heard someone behind me
???:Hey Annie
I turn to see Hayden
Annie:Oh Umm...hey Hayden! How are you?
Hayden:Good. How's school so far?
Annie:I'm adjusting, but it's pretty good. I mean all of these advanced classes and different science lessons! And don't get me started on the English class!
Hayden just chuckles in response
Hayden:It seems as if you've never been to a school before
Annie:Umm...
I then get a text from Kenzie
K🌹:If people ask, you were home schooled in California
A👼🏼:K thanks
Annie:I was actually home schooled in California, so...i guess you're right!
Hayden:I guess so. So, are you going to that back-to-school dance?
Annie:I don't know yet. I mean unless you ask me
I laugh nervously and pull a piece of hair behind my ear as he smiles at me
Ok, a little too far Annie! Chill out!!
Annie:I was kidding! I mean, why would I go with you? We just met. And it would just be weird. I don't l-like y-you that way. And now I'm rambling and I can't stop!
Hayden:It's okay
Annie:No, it's not. I mean I just got here and now I'm acting so stupid in front of you! Well, it's not like I would want to impress you! And now I'm rambling again!
I sigh then open my locker and grab my water bottle
Hayden:Just calm down. I know it's intimidating on the first day. You'll be fine
Annie:Yeah, right. The first day of school. That's definitely why I'm rambling
Hayden:Huh?
Annie:Am I talking to myself out loud?
Hayden:Yep
Annie:Of course
Hayden looks at me again
Annie:Sorry, I talk out loud when I'm nervous
Hayden:Well, it's actually really cute
I smile and blush in return to his smile
Hayden:Anyways, Umm...can I get your number...if you want?
Annie:S-sure
I smile at him shyly as we exchange our phones then give them back
Annie:So, maybe I'll call you?
Hayden:And maybe I'll answer
Annie:And maybe I'll talk to you?
Oh really Annie?! Really?!
Hayden:That would be weird if you didn't 
Annie:R-right. I knew that. I just, uh...
Hayden:See ya later Annie
Annie:Bye
He walks away as I close my locker then walk back to the cafeteria
