Loki's POV
"I'm not kissing you," Loki said quickly.
"I'd like to keep it that way," Cas replied gruffly, dragging him out of sight by the arm.
"Oh, thank goodness," Loki sighed in relief.
"Look," Cas shoved him against the wall of a building. He winced as his spine hit the hard concrete. "You're being painfully obvious,"
"What?" Loki asked, genuinely confused.
"She must think that you're joking around because even I can tell that you love her," Cas said flatly.
"As a sister-" Loki protested.
"Don't even start with that horse crap. It's plain and obvious," Cas told him, her eyes narrowed.
"How so?!" he demanded incredulously.
"You smack your lips when you look at her and you can't detach yourself from her. Need more reasons? I've got a motherlode,"
"I get it, I get it, fine, I'm obvious. I can't really help it, honestly, I don't even know that I'm-"
"Then you'd better start learning now because people are going to notice. You're an icon, whether you believe it or not. People watch you every day. I'm not telling you to stop loving her, though you should probably do that too, I'm just telling you to stop making it obvious,"
Loki glanced down angrily. "I don't understand why I can't get over this,"
"I can't exactly help you there," Cas admitted. "But what I do know is that if you keep doing these things, a lot of people are going to get on your case about it. You don't want that. Drama is not something you naturally want to attract,"
"Oh, trust me, I know," he grumbled.
"Do you even notice when you're doing those things?"
"Not usually,"
"When do you notice?"
"When I catch myself thinking about her,"
"And you stop?"
"Sometimes. Most times,"
"Why only most times?"
Loki wanted to rant out, telling her all of the reasons why he wanted Elin to notice him and realize that he admired her more than his brother, but that was more personal than he was willing to share.
"I- I'm just stubborn, I guess," he said quietly.
"Well, you better stop being stubborn, then," she advised. "Because you can't have everything that Thor has, no matter how hard you try,"
This hit home for Loki. He knew this. He'd learned it since a young age, yet somehow, it hit harder that day than any other.
Cas grabbed his arm again and began to drag him away again. They passed a smirking Thor and a giggling Elin. Anger boiled in Loki's stomach.
Cas was right. He couldn't have everything Thor had.
And sometimes, he had to take it.
