Avian POV:

We arrived shortly after leaving Kakariko Village. It's just noon when we arrived. After all, Hateno Village aren't that far from Kakariko Village but the Hateno Village in this era is bigger, much bigger than in the game. All the people of different races can be seen. It warms my heart to see all the things before the calamity.

Suddenly someone tap my shoulder gently, shaking me back to reality. So, I turn around to see who it is, and that person is Zelda. She is holding something which look like a sheikah tribe charm. A good luck charm. A size of a coin, having a sheikah eye symbol embedded on it. It has an eerie blue glow coming out from it. Overall, it looks pretty beautiful and calming at the same time.

"Here, have this charm, Impa gave it to me before we traveled. I wake up early to have some private chat with her and she gave me two of these and said 'one for each of you.'. it acted like a good luck charm." After Zelda explained how she got it. I take the charm out of her hand. My feathers touch her hand but she didn't mind. Inspect it a bit and continue on with our chat.

"Thank you, Zelda. Now, I need to give her my thank too. If I will ever get the chance that is." I said while looking at the charm in my hand. Then King Rhoam enter the scene.

"You two enjoyed it here, right? Especially, Avian. This is, of course, your first time how do you feel about this place?" he asked me. I then smile and answer his question.

"All the village we went so far. All of them are so astonishing and vastly different in architecture. I'm so lucky to see all this. Thank you for giving me this chance." I said thanking the king. He gave me a hearty laugh and continue.

"Glad you like it. Anyway, today me and Zelda are going to fulfill our duty so Avian, you might be alone for the day." That raise some questions to me. I am about to ask him about it but he start talking again.

"So, I am going to leave you with someone to take care of you. He is a remarkable soldier. We are about to go meet him and his son. Are you both ready to meet them?" the king asks me at the end.

"Yes, your highness. We are both ready." I answered for both of us. The king just nodded and start leading us to meet this temporally guardian of mine. After walking for not that long and chatting with Zelda along the way, we eventually turn right, crossing a bridge over small ravine. And I start to realize where we are going. The house is still largely the same just like in the game. On the right of the house, there stand a tall hylian man who look like he is coaching the one who I assume is who I think he is.

The man noticed our arrival turning to face us and 'Link' stop his training and turn back to see us.

"Hello, your highness. I've been expecting you." The man greeted King Rhoam. Bowing to show sign of respect. Causing 'Link' to bow as well.

"Hello Banzetta and Link. It's nice to meet you." The king replied. At that moment I celebrated my victory in guessing correctly inside my head. But wow, the other day I met with Impa and the former elder of Kakariko Village and now Link and his father. Is this just a coincidence or destiny at play? We'll never know.

Banzetta look down to meet my eyes and I instantly feel nervous. I'm not that good with meeting new people, it makes me nervous all the time.

"So, this is the rito fledgling that you were talking about. I assume." Banzetta said looking you up and down.

"Yes, he is the one. Avian, this is Banzetta, one of the knights of Hyrule and that his son, Link." Banzetta slimed at you and give you a thumbs up and Link wave at you a bit.

"Yep, that's me. It's a pleasure to meet you, Avian." Banzetta said in a jovial tone.

"Y-Yes sir, I-It's a pleasure to meet you as well."

'Stop stuttering and get yourself together already, Avian.' Zelda giggled at me again which didn't help one bit.

"Alright Banzetta. I trust you to look after him for me. Please take care of him. He has been through a lot." He pushes me gently making me walk to stand beside Banzetta.

"I'll take my leave now with my daughter. See you all tomorrow morning." The King said bidding us goodbye.

"Safe travel, your highness." Banzetta said wishing him the best of luck. Zelda was about to follow her father turn her head to me.

"Take care, Avian. I hope to see you soon." She smiled at me and start walking off. I wave for her. When she leaves my sight, I frown a bit but get back to being myself. I was about to turn around when I feel something touch my wing. Making my body go stiff at the sudden touch.

"Link. Stop harassing him. He's with his highness. You don't want to accidentally make him feel uncomfortable." Banzetta said making Link pull back. guilty fill his face but his eyes is full of curiosity. Look like when Link were just a kid, he seems to express his feeling more openly unlike the stone face he make in all the cutscenes that I've seen.

"I-I'm sorry...." Link signed apologizing. This might be a problem in the future because I don't know sign language. I need to learn it if I have some free time.

"Link doesn't talk much. Usually, he uses sign language so I understand that you might not be able to understand him. He said 'I'm sorry' just a moment ago" Banzetta said. Link seems embarrassed that he forgot some people don't understand sign language which make me gave out a quiet laugh.

"So, Avian. Me and my son is in the middle of training when you arrive. We plan on continue training so do you want to watch us train?" Banzetta asked inviting me. I contemplate trying to choose the best option to take.

"Can I do something more than just watch?" I said which make Link and his father look at me curious on what the 'more than just watch' mean.

"Can you teach me how to fight with a sword? or at the very least teach me how to defend myself?" I asked this time much clearer on what I mean by 'more than just watch'. Banzetta seems to be in the zoned for a bit then he looks at me smiling.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to try and teach you. I'll go grab another training sword for you, wait here." Then Banzetta walk in to his house leaving me and Link alone. I look back to where Link used to be but he wasn't there anymore, instead he return to training. So, I watch him train. He moved his sword with such grace, it is like every hit have a purpose, a meaning behind each hit. A soon-to-be hero of hyrule. You can do it. I-We believe in you.

Shortly after Banzetta come out of his house, give me my training sword, and start teaching me the basic of how to use a sword. At first, I thought this will be hard but I was so wrong. Banzetta eyes widen when he teaches me each time. I always succeed at it in first try. It was like I was meant to holding a sword. Even Link was surprise by my skill.

'This rito, he's special. I'm sure of it.' Banzetta thinking to himself.

We trained for a very long time. I even get the chance to sparred with Link. Even though I was good, of course, I still lost to Link. He's just way too good. But nonetheless all three of us have fun anyway.

The sky starts to turn orange. Link's father looks up at the sky.

"Alright kids, it's time for, Dinner get some rest, I'll go ahead and make a nice meal for you two." Banzetta then walk back in the house to prepare our meal. While me and Link are panting heavily from our training. I sat at a log nearby to rest.

"*pant* L-Link jeez.... *pant* can't you just *pant* go easy on me. This is my first time." Link just smile at me. He sits down beside me.

"How did you do it?" wait did I hear that right? Link is 'talking'? no way it must be my imagination tricking me.

"How are you so good at sword fighting even though this is your first time?" Link said again. I look to see him staring intensely at me. My mind has stop working for a moment. Not long after my mind start to work and the first thing that came to my mind is....

LINK CAN TALK!!!
