Chapter 5 The first meal

Avian POV:

I woke up feeling a bit sore but all my pain seems to have dissolve away looking to my wounded wing. It seems to have heal up to the point that I can swing it a bit but if I swing it way too hard it might reopen up the wound so I have to stop myself before I do anything stupid. Sitting up straight on the bed that I have been staying on. What I see isn't a child like before but now it's a hylian adult which I assume by the outfit that she must be a maid working here in the castle. She seems to notice me as I was about to sit up. She begins to smile and ask me.

"Are you okay? Feeling any better?" I answered back with a nodded. I can't talk much now because I don't know what role am I and how should I act. Being thrown in to this world like this. It is hard to wrap my head around AND hard to actually blend in. right now staying as quite as possible is my best option. After I finish my thought the maid start to asked more question

"You must be very hungry right? You didn't eat anything or drink anything for 2 days." as she finish her sentence. I noticed that my throat is very dry and my stomach is begging for something, anything to put in to it.

"Here some Vegetable Omelet, Cream of mushroom soup and some water" I look toward the table next to the bed. I see the menu that the maid has prepare for me. The Vegetable omelet look freshly cooked. The smell is incredible, fragrant and out of this world. The soup looks very good as well. The water is just plain water but I don't mind. Over all it looks amazing. I can feel drool threatening to fall from my mouth but I resisted the urge to do it. My resistance did have an effect of keeping the drool within me but for my stomach. It was futile. My stomach growl loudly the sound of it is like a beast ready to wolfed down on its meal which make me feel very embarrassed. Forgetting that I'm a rito now. My feather puffs up because of my embarrassment which the maid sees all of this happening in front of her eyes and chuckled at me. Making me look down on my lap if I didn't have feathers all over my face. You would see that I'm blushing a bit.

"Don't be embarrassed my dear. Here eat up you need it for your energy and to grow up big and strong. and if you want more you can ask me to get more for you unfortunately, I didn't make more omelet but I can get you more soup." She then sits at a chair next to the bed and near the table.

"come closer so you can eat without making a mess on the bed" I start moving to the side of the bed hanging my little talons down beside the bed.

"Do you want me to feed for you?" the maid asks suddenly making me surprised. This did remind me that I'm still a little fledgling which make me think back to Zelda. She still a child but that impossible. In the game Zelda age is around a teenager on Earth so how? There is one possible explanation which is that I enter the game before the calamity happen. Way way before it happens to the time that Zelda is still a child. The maid sees me lost in thought. She seems to be waiting for my answer. Which did make me snap back to the present. Shacking my head, a bit.

"S-Sorry I was lost in thought there. But no thank you I can feed myself." I smiled at her. Refusing her help. An adult inside a child body this is going to be very strange.

"Okay if you say so. You can go ahead and eat now before the food get cold." With that said and done. I feel my wing instantly grab the plate and start wolfing down the food. At first, I thought that having a beak and no teeth would be very hard to eat something. To my surprised, it didn't. Even though there are no teeth there but it feels like something magical making the food break up in to tiny piece. It is like eating normally as a human but with a beak. It is hard to explain the feeling exactly but I'm glad that I didn't have to eat like a bird. I finish eating the omelet in less than five minutes, drink water a bit, and start eating the soup. The omelet and the soup. The smell of it isn't just for show. It is insanely delicious like the smell. I can hardly contain myself eating it. I want to 'drink' the soup but I can't because of my beak but I don't mind it. It makes me savor it more actually. The maid that sit next to me just smile at me and giggled a bit making me realize that I'm not alone.

"You like it don't you? I prepare it for you. I thought that it might not be that good but you seem to like it very much" She said.

"Not that good? But this is very delicious. Like it? More like love it." I answered after finish eating the soup and smile at her. She seems to be a bit surprise by my answer.

"ummm... Can I- Can I have more? And thank you for everything." The maid seems to be back to reality and she smile the biggest smile she can and said.

"Of course, you can have more here let me get you some more and no need to thank me. It is my duty after all" she grabs the bowl and go get more soup for me. After the second bowl was place in front of me, I start to eat it but much slower pace that the first one but I manage to finish it which make the maid eye widen.

"You have quite the appetize huh?" with that statement, my feathers puffing up going haywire again which make the maid giggled. After the maid finish cleaning the dish. She starts asking.

"You should go out and get some fresh air. Can you walk? You've been staying on that bed for so long." I try standing up. My legs even though it hasn't been used for only two days it feels like it hasn't been used in forever. My legs wobbled trying to stand up but I manage. Steadying myself so that my face isn't planted on the ground. Next step is walking which go smoothly if I'm not walking normally. I'll be very concern. Eventually I walk up to the maid. She holds up the shirt that look like a traditional rito clothing for a fledgling but it has blue color and a few gem stone, which is sapphire, adorn all over it.

"Here wear this. We are going to meet the King and his daughter" the maid said which make me feel a bit nervous.

"Oh, by the way, I haven't introduced myself my name is Clare. I'm the maid here in Hyrule Castle. It's nice to meet you."
