Amity POV
Luz was sending ice and vine attacks at my parents but she couldn't land a clean hit. They kept dodging and overwhelming her with abominations and blasts of energy.

I struggled to my feet and summoned and abomination and commanded at them but they summoned a force field with one and and the abomination exploded on impact.

My mothers eyes glared at me and she drew a spell circle and sent fire at me. I braced for impact but Zoe dived into me, knocking me to the ground.

My father summoned an abomination hand and smacked Luz. She cried in pain and came crashing into Zoe.

The three of us laid there, tired and in agony as my parents drew a spell circle together and a beam of golden energy came flying towards us. The three of us closed our eyes expecting the attack but felt nothing.

After a few seconds we opened our eyes to see a  golden, transparent sphere surrounding and protecting us. We look over to see the owl lady panting with her staff pointed towards us.

My parents grunted and turned their attention to the wanted woman, who prepared herself to fight.

"Eda no!" Luz cried "your curse." I looked at the owl lady's chest to see her usually golden gem almost completely filled with a black ooze.

Eda scoffed "I'll be alright kid, or I'm not the most powerful witch on the boiling isles!" Eda readied her staff and charged.

Willow POV
I was slammed to the ground by an Emira's clone as the real Emira fired a blast of flame towards me.

I drew a spell circle as a large flower grew from the ground and blocked the flame. I then drew another circle and vines flew towards em but she dodged this easily.

I looked over to see Gus struggling to his feet as two Edric clones rushed him, one punched him in the gut and the other slammed his face to the dirt.

I tried to reach over to him but Emira kicked me in the face and my glasses went flying from my face.

Nick POV
I staggered forward and leaned onto a tree, panting heavily. My vision was blurring and I feel my body failing me.

I try and force my self onward but I instead collapse to the ground. I attempt to move my body but my limbs refuse to obey. I feel blood leaking from several cuts on my body.

I hear footsteps walk around me as the mysterious stranger tuts. "Look at you, you really have looked better."

I force my eyes to meet the strangers as my eyes widen with shock. "That's not possible, you're not real."

"Really Nick, an illusion master complaining about something not being real?" They mock.

My mind races for answers as I stare into the face of someone I'd never thought I'd see again.
"Maxwell"

"Maxwell?" He responds "so formal. We're ex lovers Nick, not co workers." He joked.

"How are you here right now?" I ask as I force my self to sit up against a tree, groaning in pain as I do so.

"I'm not." He states bluntly. "The real Max died a long time ago, what I am is a hallucination cause by a mix of being absolutely exhausted and being almost completely drained of magic."

"Ah well that would explain it, because I could've sworn you used to be hotter." I smirked.

Fake Max rolled his eyes as he looked at me and sat down next to me. "Still a snarky sh*t I see."

"Well it's part of my charm." I shoot back before starting to cough, coughing blood into my hand. I stare at the blood. "Am I dying?"

"We're all dying Nick." Max responds "we just do it at different paces."
