"A broken left wrist, strained knee, head concussion, and not to mention bruises all over your body." One of FBI's best man - though a nosy nurse is what Sumire seemed to be describe as of late -, Akai Shuichi stated with a stern gaze directed into the woman sitting on the wheelchair he's been pushing around.
"If you wanna lecture me, please do so after we leave this nauseating place." Sumire groaned in annoyance, wanting to see no more of those dull white walls of her assigned hospital room that she's been for the past week or so. How startled her doctor was when she appeared at the hospital bloody and full of bruises carried by two men that he almost issued domestic abuse against them in shock.
She adjusted the thick rimmed glasses that rest on the bridge of her nose before sighing when the male started talking about her current predicament.
"You wouldn't be here if you--" Shuichi tried to - uncharacteristically - scold her for being reckless, only to be interrupted by the the brunette who intend to sarcastically scorned at the forest green eyed male.
"Yeah, as if I can stop my system from being poisoned."
"You two really should lower your voices." Kaito stated with a playful smile as he pointed to the people on the sidelines who stared at them in wonder at how they're speaking in Japanese. Sumire turned her head a little to look at the teen, only then remembering that she wasn't alone with her partner.
She sighed at her blank headedness and leaned her pained back into the wheelchair, wanting nothing else but to just finally get out of the hospital she's placed in. Strands of her short brown hair tickled her neck, remembering just how short she cutted it off out of boredom. It's not like she hated it, she just wished she atleast doesn't look like she cutted it with some rusted kitchen shears. It's nothing to worry about really, considering her fashion sense and all but she just felt tired. Too tired to even think about what occured the past few days.
Tired enough to be able to think of a solution for everything. It's not like it's new for her to be left a step behind by time anyways.
"I wanna go home." She groaned as her head began to throb with intense pain once again. Her comment made both Kaito and Shuichi look back down at her in confusion as they are in fact headed to Sumire's hotel room to have her rest for a little before they go to America.
"We're already in London." Shuichi stated with his normal tone, glancing at the woman who looked away for feeling the way she's having at the moment. Shame slowly creeping up on her, knowing how much England meant to both Shuichi and herself.
"I meant Japan..." she muttered, knowing where the conversation would be going. The brunette looked down, not wanting to see the raven haired agent's reaction.
"So you finally welcome it as your new home." Shuichi stated with a gentle smile lingering on his sharp-featured face, knowing that it's about time for the brunette to let go and accept the things as they are and live in the present.
"Almost all the people I love and cherish resides there. I can't continue on pushing to myself that England is still my home." She explained with her head still down, not seeing the understanding look on her partner's face.
"But it'll always be my mother country." Sumire smiled at the memories that invaded her mind as she said that, from the every visitation from Shukichi to every chess competition she won. Her pleased feelings went away as soon as she remembered her reason for wanting to return back to Japan to live with her family. Wanting to give it another chance. Wanting to not feel detached any longer.
"Besides after living back here for a short time in the most normal way for a Kudo, I kinda realized how boring it would be if I stay here after the whole Black Organization fiasco." The brunette faced Shuichi, a neutral expression plastered on her face though he always knew that there's more to it than she would ever let on. Afterall, she only started to truly change when Arthur showed up. She's always holding herself back as if each action would get someone in danger.
