"You two lived here for five years together?" Rei questioned as his light blue eyes scans the large apartment the two federal agents lives at. The two shared a knowing look before the brunette sighs, handing a replica of the key of the apartment just incase.
"Sumire still live here." Shuichi simply stated, not minding to mention that this isn't their first two years in America as agents apartment that only have one room with two beds across.
"Please be free to feel at home." Sumire said with a small genuine smile before she head towards her room, attempting to leave the two to talk among themselves to sort atleast their emotions towards each other... Especially Rei but Shuichi would have to atleast say he's sorry for what happened as she knew that her partner wouldn't admit the truth of that tragedy even if it became a burden for him to endure.
"Where are you going, Sumire-san?" Rei asked while using her first name, anxious about her leaving him alone with Shuichi.
"To my room to change." Sumire sighed in exhaustion, wanting to rest as soon as possible but she knew that sleep is the least of her concern at the moment since she just brought the very person who Arthur is possibly after in America but she couldn't protect him if he isn't with her... Atleast that's one on her mind as she is as secretive as her brother is to Shiho when it comes to the organization.
"Wanna join?" Sumire asked with a straight face, causing Rei to be flustered by her question. Shuichi stood there beside the Public Security agent, amused by the scene unfolding infront of him as he is pretty aware of his partner's hidden mischieviousness.
"Kidding." Sumire said with a small contented smile before completely making her way towards her room.
"You gotta get used to it." Shuichi chuckled at the younger male, confusing him even more at the happenings. Noticing the awkward stare Rei is giving him, the male FBI agent smiled before speaking.
"Sumire's dry sense of humor, I mean." The black haired male smiled, ignoring the still confused look on the other male as he sat on a couch before turning on the television.
"Why did you brought me along with you two?" Rei questioned, slowly gaining his composure bit by hit after moments of just watching the green eyed agent focused on some news being reported on the screen.
"Sumire said that you'll be a great help." Shuichi said, eyes still focused on the news.
"With what exactly?" Rei impatiently asked as hatred for the other male returned after he finally regained all of his composure, though it all shattered as soon as Sumire returned to the small living room. Now wearing a deep red off shoulder sweater and a black fitted skirt, Sumire made her way towards the door.
"You going somewhere, Sumire?" Shuichi asked, though already having a conclusion of what the brunette is up to considering the not so noticable distraught look in her face.
"We're out of coffee." Sumire scoffed, the look in her eyes sending a chill in Rei's spine as it is much worse than the one Vermouth received back in Nagano. He shook off the feeling and stood up, approaching the female who have her brows furrowed in impatience.
"I'll go with you." The blonde agent stated, pleading the female with the look on his face. Sumire sighed before looking at Shuichi who give her a nod.
"Sure."
The stars in the sky are bright enough to lighten the street along with the moon to light up the streets but the streetlights lined up on the streets remained on as the two walked to the nearest convienent store. Rei could've appreciate the beautiful atmosphere more with Sumire if a heavy feeling aren't bothering him though. The feeling that's been haunting him ever since what happened just back in London.
