I woke up the next morning, surprised to see so many people in the common room because of how quiet it was. If I had been sleeping on the couch in the Gryffindor Common room I would've been woken up by a pillow being thrown at me or one of the twins doing something stupid. But the Hufflepuff common room was bright and calm. People sat on cushions drinking tea and talking quietly while others read books or tended to the small plant pots in the windows. The smell of pastries spread throughout the room. I looked up at Cedric who was still sleeping. I sat up and shook him a little,

"Wake up, sleepyhead." I said softly as his eyes fluttered open

"Good morning, beautiful." He sat up and stretched, "I'm sorry we fell asleep. I was going to walk you back to your common room after we hung out for a while."

"It's okay. I don't mind. It was nice not to be woken up by yelling for once."

"Yeah, mornings are nice and quiet here."

"They aren't in my common room. You better get up before Lee and the twins or you'll regret that extra ten minutes of sleep."

"I thought you said they can't go up to the girls' dormitories."

"Oh, they can't. They're just very loud and as soon as you get to the bottom of the stairs, you're fair game for whatever prank they came up with that morning."

"Sounds...exciting?"

"Sure. We can use that word." I smiled and he chuckled

"Come on, I'll walk you up." He stood up and held out his hand. I took it. He grabbed the invisability cloak from the couch and we headed upstairs. We walked up to the tower in peaceful silence. When we got to the portrait door he kissed my cheek and handed the cloak to me, "I'll see you in a little while." He said and went back downstairs.

I walked into the Gryffindor common room and saw exactly what I was hoping to not see- Everyone was sitting in front of the fire and turned to face me when they heard the door open,

"There she is." Ron said pointing to me as if they weren't all already looking at me

"How's pretty boy?" George asked in a mocking tone

"He's doing well." I pretended I didn't notice and smiled. I put the invisability cloak on the back of the couch and sat myself in between Harry and Hermione. Harry put his arm around me and hugged me,

"How was your night?" He whispered really quietly

"It was good." I whispered back and he let go of me. Seems like Harry is the only supportive one.

All of a sudden, professor McGonagall burst through the door,

"What are you all doing?" She asked, sounding panicked. We all looked at each other not seeing what we were doing wrong, "The other schools will be here in two hours! I came up here to make sure you were all prepared and it's obvious you are not. Now go. Get up." She waved us all off the couches then left.

"Okay who was going to tell us that it was already October 30th?" Ron asked

"Well, McGonagall just did." George said, in a matter-of-fact tone

"Hahaha. You're hilarious." Ron said sarcastically and we all went up to get dressed.

About 10 minutes later we were all back down stairs and I pulled the twins aside,

"Did you really find a way to get past that age line?"

"Yup!" Fred said, sounding excited

"Please don't."

"Why do you care so much?" He asked, George slipped away,

"Because I don't want you getting hurt."

"I'll be fine."

"That's exactly what Cedric said."

"He's putting his name in?" I nodded, "And I'm assuming you tried to talk him out of it like you did me?" I nodded again, "Why are you treating us the same?"

"I think I've recently discovered that you are both more alike than any of us would like to admit."

"Is that why you went for him?" He asked

"No. Not at all. I-I don't know why I went for him but I did." I took a deep breath, "Freddie, I miss you. I don't want to get back together but I just want us to be friends again. I miss talking to you and hearing you laugh."

"Come here." He said and hugged me, "I miss you too."
