He was doing so well. The rock he transfigured into a dog kept the dragon distracted...until it didn't. And Cedric got a breath of fire on his face. He got the egg though so he completed the first task. As soon as he left the arena, I left the stands

"Wait don't you want to watch..." Hermione's voice trailed off as I went down the steps towards the tent when Madame Pomfrey was prepared to help anyone who got hurt.

"Ced!" I ran over to him and he smiled then winced

"Hi." He put his hand on my waist, "I think I nailed that." He teased

"Yeah. Just the slight issue of the burn on your face."

"Not to worry, dears, I'll have him fixed up in no time." Madame Pomfrey said rushing over to Cedric, "Dragons.." she muttered under her breath, "what were they thinking putting children against dragons?"

Cedric held my hand as she did spells to clear up the burn

"There you are." She said, taking a step back, "Good as new."

"Thank you." He said and got up. We walked out of the tent, "How do I look?"

"Really cute."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah." I said.

He picked me up and kissed me, "You were worried for no reason at all, beautiful."

"Your face got burned. There was a very reasonable reason to be worried."

"Well I have no burns now." I shook my head and he set me down.

"So how was it?"

"Terrifying. You feel so small next to a huge fire breathing dragon"

"I'm sure. It looked scary even from where I was."

"Yeah."

"But you got the egg so you completed the task."

"If that was the first one then I'm nervous for the next two."

"I'm sure you will do fine, Ced."

"Oh so now you're not worried?" He teased

"Nah, I believe in you." We walked into the champions' tent just as Harry was walking in from the other side,holding a golden egg,

"You didn't watch me, did you?" Harry asked and I looked down at my feet, "I get that you and Cedric are dating, I do, but you're my best friend. You're like a sister to me. Stop forgetting all about me." I continued to look down "Let me back into your life."

"I never took you out of it." I said lifting my gaze to look at him

"You did though. Do you remember last year? We hung out in the common room, just you and me, and we talked for hours, until the sun came back up. I miss that."

"Tonight."

"What?"

"We'll talk until the sun comes up tonight."

"Okay." He gave me a soft smile and nodded then walked away

"So I'm assuming I don't get to have you all to myself tonight?" Cedric said in my ear

"Sorry Ced, I need to spend time with him." I braced for the impact of jealousy that occurred the last time I told my boyfriend I needed to spend time with my friends.

But it never came, "I understand. As much as I don't want to, I'll share." He kissed my cheek, "I love you."

"I love you too. I'll hang out with you until after dinner."
