It's an xreader type and this time the genre is Time Travel. I want to introduce Ryuichi Sakamoto to those who never heard of him before. The timeline will be from 1981 to 1987 but I might've hacked it :>

~Yukihiro's P.O.V~ Happy new year! We've entered the second month of 1984 but we're a week away to the end of the month. We just released our After Service album after our tour in Budokan and sadly, the album and the tour are our last activities together as Yellow Magic Orchestra. We celebrated Sakamoto's birthday last month and it was a regular birthday party. Cake, gifts and some music.
We're in Alfa Records again today. It has always been fun for four of us here. It used to be just the three of us with the studio staff and sometimes our additional members. When (y/n)-chan came, she made the place much more fun. "So the album is a compilation of songs from your previous ones?" (y/n)-chan asked about the album's contents. I remembered she said something about our recording for After Service... a speedrun? If I remember correctly... "We did add in new tracks in it.". "It still counts as a compilation." Sakamoto giggled at (y/n)-chan's sarcasm to Hosono-san.
"What do you think about the concert?" I asked. "It was amazing! I like the regime theme." She shared her opinion. "If you guys were dictators, I wouldn't mind living under your rule." She cheekily added. "If so, then you'll be our commander-in-chief!" Hosono-san responded and we laughed. Just as I was going to pat her head, I felt something ominous staring at me. I glanced and it was coming from Sakamoto. I dismissed the idea and pulled back my hand.
~Your P.O.V~ We talked about the Service album and I mostly asked about the S.E.T intervals. Turns out it was the ol' collaboration. "The fifth track with you three went a bit dark than expected." I commented while trying not to sound awkward. "I thought it was funny." Said sensei but I didn't agree. "Maybe there are others who agrees with your opinion, sensei.". "Recording it with them was interesting and fun to watch." Said Hosono-san, slightly changing the topic.
"We even spent the night here!". "Don't you occasionally do that?" I blurted to Takahashi-san and he didn't know how to respond it. "We did work really late and when we woke up, it was already morning." Hosono-san reminisced. "Good thing you didn't ruin the control from drooling." I teased. "You're the one who was sleeping soundly on the couch." Sensei countered. "Sensei!". "Ha! Now you know how it feels!" Takahashi-san triumphantly took the last laugh. I guess I deserved that too.
"Are there any more new albums? Singles or a new event?" I eagerly asked. "Well...". "This is our last meeting." Takahashi-san completed Hosono-san's sentence. "Wait... You're disbanding?". "No, we're not. We're... spreading out! We continue on our own path in music." Sensei tried to explain. "I guess that's a better way to say it. But you three will be together again, right?". "We will. Someday..." Takahashi-san put his hand on my shoulder and gave a reassuring smile. Both Hosono-san and sensei nodded in agreement.
"Since today is the last day of you three together... how about you do one more song? I want to hear Hosono-san sing." I looked at Hosono-san and I noticed his slight blush. "You've heard him sing before, haven't you? When we were recording and on the television." Sensei responded. "But I want to hear it again! I've listened you and Takahashi-san singing too many times." I acted like a child for a bit. Hosono-san then chuckled, "Alright, alright... just one song." He then nodded at sensei and Takahashi-san. Both of them seemed to know which song Hosono-san had in mind.
Ryuichi-sensei and Takahashi-san then went to their instruments while Hosono-san picked up a guitar and handed me the bass. "Are you sure you want me to take part, Hosono-san? I don't know which song you're going to play." I hesitated but he smiled and said, "Don't worry. I'm sure you can follow along just fine.". I took the bass and hung it over my shoulder by the strap. We nodded at each other and Hosono-san strung the opening tune.
(Verse 1) As I was walking down a towering alley In the outskirts of the city I saw beyond the blotched fog A streetcar still sluggish from sleep Crossing over the sea
(Chorus) That's why I want to gather the wind (under my wings) Gather the wind (under my wings) And run across the blue sky.
(Verse 2) As I passed through a beautiful sunrise I saw beyond the empty-looking breakwater A city with its day-colored sails up Moored in the port
(Chorus) That's why I want to gather the wind (under my wings) Gather the wind (under my wings) And run across the blue sky.
(Verse 3) When I was killing time one morning At an empty coffee shop I saw through the cracked glass The rustling of the high-rises' silken clothes Brushing on the sidewalk
(Chorus) That's why I want to gather the wind (under my wings) Gather the wind (under my wings) And run across the blue sky.
At first I lost track a bit but I managed to follow along once I got the right tunes. I guess that they're much more comfortable singing in Japanese although they tried their best in English. "I like the song! It's beautiful and relaxed. What's it called?" I asked. "風をあつめて (Kaze wo Atsumete). It's a song from my old band, Happy End." Hosono-san explained. 'Gather the Wind' I want to listen to it more once I have internet again.
We wrapped the day in the studio and I gave Takahashi-san and Hosono-san parting hugs. "I'm going to miss hanging with you two..." I admit that I was sad. "Same here.". "Feel free to visit us sometime!" I nodded but I'm not sure if I can keep the promise. We exited the building and on our individual way back. "By the way, (y/n)-chan... about the sketch you made...". "Yes, sensei?"
"Why did you draw me with long hair?" sensei curiously asked. "The idea popped in my head and... I think you look cute with it..." I muttered the last part. "Hm?". "I—If you were like the sketch, many girls will fall for you hard! Even Akiko-san!" I tried to find alternative words. "Don't you mean yourself?" he teased and I blushed, looking away. He giggled, "I'm only joking and I really like it. It looks like David Sylvian and I shared a hairstyle together." And complimented. He then told me that he really did had a long hair before and the name "Abu".

A.N : Happy Valentine's day! My boi will come tomorrow and I can finally celebrate together! *ahem* Anyway... this is the last chapter with Yellow Magic Orchestra and honestly, I'm a bit unsure what to write in future chapters. I really love writing interactions with the other members. I'll see what I can do in the next chapter. Hope you guys enjoy and I'll see you in the next one! RD out!! Boi!!!
P.S : I put in the English lyrics since the Japanese are already in the vid. You can find the original English translation in Girl By The Shore manga.
