Rift In Time

~Your P.O.V~
Last night was amazing! I spent the rest of the evening researching about the group and a bit about Sakamoto-san. Now I understand why he's called Professor. I think I might change the honorific for him. Since today is Sunday, I'm planning to buy some goods while spending the day or maybe buy some albums from YMO or one of the members.

After breakfast, I got shower and changed my clothes. The air is pretty cold so I wore an undershirt under a sweater. I popped up last night's jeans and sneakers. I grabbed my bag then went to the station. I plugged in my earphones and played the playlist Maya gave me and as expected, it was filled with YMO best hits. 'Thanks, Maya... now I'm invested in this..." I rolled my eyes at the thought and giggled afterwards. I shuffled the playlist and listened to it along the way.

The train arrived at the city central and I got off. I remembered to paused the song and took off my earphones before I left the station. The mall is pretty close to the station but the shops are much closer. "Where should I go?" I had a slight indecision and I chose to go to the mall. "Damn it! I forgot to bring my scarf!" I slapped my forehead in realization. I might be here until night...

"I guess I have to take in the cold then..." I sighed and continued walking. I arrived and the cold air from the building blasted to my face as I walked in. The first place I went is the stationary store. I grabbed some loose leaf papers for my binder and ink refill for my pen. I noticed a new novel in the book isle but I can't read it when I pulled it out from the shelf. It was wrapped in plastic.

I put it back in the shelf and went to the cashier to pay. "Thank you." I took the bag and walked around the mall. "I didn't realize to bump into you here!" I recognize the voice and it was Ryouma. We met up and he was with his girlfriend. "I see you're in a date today..." I teased. Ryouma chuckled and introduced her, "This is Haruna, and Haruna this is (y/n). We're in the same band.". "It's nice to meet you." I bowed and she bowed back. "It's nice to meet you too, (y/n)." said Haruna with a smile. "What are you doing here anyway?" Ryouma asked. "Spending the day out and buy some things." I explained.

"Alright then. Have a nice day! See you in the next gig.". "See you too!" we waved and parted ways. I went to the bookstore and spent the rest of my time browsing and reading some books. I checked the time and it was noon. I exited to bookstore and went to the fast food to get lunch. After lunch, I went to some stores to buy new tee and shoes I've been eyeing on.

My earphones have been in my ears since I finished lunch and I don't think to plan on taking them off soon. I checked the time again and it's almost late so I decided to go back. I exited the mall and walked back to the station and I might regret not taking off my earphones. I tried to pay attention to the road and my surroundings than the music even though I lowered the volume so I can hear the road sounds.

I crossed the last crossroad before I got to the station. I looked left and right and it seemed no vehicles passing so I walked through. The road was oddly silent or was it the music I'm listening and I was taking my time with the walk. I heard something off and I thought it was from the music. The sound was coming closer and much louder. My reflexes came late when my body felt the impact from the car to the ground. "Hey! Are you okay? Help!" I heard the driver scream before I blacked out.

(Late November, 1981)

~Ryuichi's P.O.V~
It's a cold night I November and currently I'm on my way home. I was walking to the station when I saw someone lying on the middle of the street. Oddly nobody seemed to noticed them. I picked up my pace to the person and it was a young lady. "Hey, are you okay?" I gently shook her but she's not waking up. I picked her up to prevent cars running over her and search a nearby bench.

I found it and put her down. I looked at her closer and she doesn't seem to have any scratches. 'Was she drunk and passed out while walking?' I thought to myself. She doesn't seem from this place from her clothes. I heard something and she was slowly waking up. "Uh... I knew I should've plugged it off..." she said to herself, regretting something. I quickly stood up for her to sit down properly. "Are you alright?". "I guess... where am I?"
