Chapter 11

everybody disperses back to the kitchen you sit back down newt had not come back you didn't think he would obviously the greenie had turned out to be the two brain celled dim witted idiot  you thought he was it left just you and gally you two eat in silence 

"am going to find newt ill see you later gal"

you walk into the homestead and knock on newts door you could faintly hear him crying quietly and it broke your heart to hear your brother upset 

"go away"

"you think i would be a good sister if i left you have been there for me now its my turn to be there for you and am not leaving so open the shuckin door or i'll bash it down with these crutches in my hand and you know I will "

you hear a sigh and newt open the door he looked a mess you pull him into a hug newt sat down on the bed you sat down next to him pulling him into another hug

"Newt its going to be alright if i can survive a night in the maze minho can and am sure he will keep the greenie and Alby alive"

"you don't get it do you" you could hear the sadness in newts voice and your knew no matter what you said it wouldn't do anything to make newt feel better  "3 years i've been here you know how many people ive seen the maze take you survived by some miracle the day you were in the maze my life fell apart i thought i would never feel like that again but here i am i've lost 3 of the most important people to me my best friend my mentor and some stupid shank that i really bloody cared about for some bloody reason " 

"i know its hard newt but you can't lose hope till the morning promise me that and don't to anything stupid i dont think jeff and clint want to deal with the pair of us in one day"

you and newt sit there in silence after a long time you notice he's fallen asleep you move so he's laying down you put the blanket over him and outside your shocked to see gally still up you sit down and he pulls you into his lap

"hey how come you're not asleep"

"i could ask the same about you"

"i was with newt he's taken it badly"

"gathered its his 2 mates out there and his whatever you want to call them"

"you sure your okay gal"

"ill be fine" he replays hastily gally picks you up grabbing your crutches as well  he carries you to your hut he places you in the bed you wrap your arms around him forcing him to lay down you snuggle into gally

"night captain" 

you laugh remember him to tell you to call him captain gally when you tried out bring a builder when you first arrived in the glade gally chuckles at the comment and pulls you closer 

"good night my little sailor"

you drift of to sleep lucky you didn't have a dream that night you didn't know if you could take another one for once the dark was just nice you wake up and sneak out your hut trying not to wake gally he looked so peaceful in his sleep you go in to newts room to check on him he isn't there so you head towards the maze entrance to your surprise  the is a small cluster of people Newt obviously chuck zart and winston where the  faces  you could pick out you stand beside newt he mumbles something quietly you can barely make out what he's saying  

"thanks for being there yesterday i really needed you"

"i know newt that's what siblings are here for right"

you spot gally out the corner of your eye standing at the back of the huddle of gladers you feel bad you must of woke him up at this point the was about 30 boys gathered at the door the doors to the maze start to creek open this is as close as you have been since the accident and it sends a cold shiver down your spin
