Chapter 21

you crawl through the narrow vent you see a bunch of turns but decide to just keep following the sound surely the sound must be thomas unless every kid knows that all the stupid rooms are connected it looks like that to you

you see thomas and some other random kid the one the dude was telling u about at dinner the one thats been here the longest that was so dramatic it only turned out to be a week

"what the bloody shuck is going on here" 

you whisper loud enough for thomas and the random kid to see you seem them singal you over and you looks down through the vent

"just wait"

you wait a few minutes that felt like a few hours before you see a pair of feet some women in a white lab coat stops facing a door you didn't expect what came next the was a trolley covered in a blue cloth you could see a monitor displaying a human body thomas moves to the other side of the vent to get a better look the women swipes a card and the trolleys go into a room you look up at the boy

"what the hell was that"

"they bring in new ones every night like clockwork"

"wait so your telling me nobody leaves this place" you try keep your voice down

"what do they umm do with then" 

clearly nothing good   but you stop yourself speaking to let the other lad talk maybe he did know something 

"i don't know this is as far as i've ever gotten the vents don't even go into that section but once they go through that door they don't come back out"

"i don't think anybody ever really leaves this way"

"i got agree something is definitely of they knew our clothes sizes and the women from the medical wing defo knew me before we arrived here"

"come on we gotta go before somebody notices we're gone"

"why did you show me this"

"because maybe the others will listen to you"

"you picked the wrong lad mate soz thomas but only newt listens to you and thats a 50/50 chance and we need to figure out what's going on before we tell them so keep it quiet" 

"there's something weird going on here and you two agree dont you" you nod at the boy

"hey what's your name by the way"

"aris"

"well it was nice meeting you aris am elizabeth but i have about 10 names at this point lizzie lizz eliza beth and he's thomas" aris nods at you before scurrying down some vent

"we should get back" you mutter at thomas

you crawl back though the vent and go to sleep your wake up and not long after some guard shows you to the dinner hall you guys all eat and big mouth thomas tells them all about what you two saw last night and how to a you put this newt looks pissed the rest of the day was pretty boring you currently sat in the dinner hall as janson reads his list of names you pray its none of your friends or you 

"barry walt edgar samantha"

" i wanna know what's through that door" thomas mutters 

 "Arron"

"now, we've been over this you said they were covered up"

"but they were definitely people and aris said once the bodys are taken in they never come out"

"Denis"

"no liz it could of been anything under there"

"yes because  a cat looks just like a human on a display screen newt"
