Cartiér POV

I could not believe how strong Annalise is. She went through so much shut and still manages to put a smile on everyone's face. Being don of the Italian mafia has made me a closed off person. I had opened up when I met Sarah but she betrayed me. When she left I could only trust my boys. They never got another motherly figure until Samuel stepped up to the plate. Now I have grandkids and a daughter. Both were things I'd always wanted but good things always come at a price. I just hope this is a price that won't leave anyone good dead.

Annalise POV

When I went to the triplets I told them that they were going to meet their grandpa. Sarah seemed excited while the two boys seemed a little bit more skeptical about meeting him. It had been decided earlier that we would have them meet before lunch then some of the boys can watch them while my father and I go shopping for things needed around the house.

An hour before lunch I decide that the kids and I should have an wardrobe change. I put them each in a blue colored outfit. It may cause slight issues for my brothers to identify who's who but I'll know so it'll be fine. To match them I decide to also dress in blue.

When lunch time arrives I head downstairs to the dining area. Cartiér is already at the table but he seems to just be waiting. When he hears us enter he stands up and starts walking towards us. Little Sarah stands behind me intimidated by him while Clayton and Cameron stand in front of me as if they are protecting me. This seems the make cartiér adore them even more. He gets down to their level and tells both boys that they should always protect the women and children first and fight second. I don't think they understand what he means but they do seems to relax some. After telling them that he introduces himself. The boys seem to warm up to their grandad quickly while Sarah seems to take longer. Throughout lunch all of them seems to glance at each other then at me. I don't know what they want to say. It could be questions about it how I grew up or it could be about the Italian mafia. I don't know.

I couldn't even ask them about it while the kids were around because they would ask questions that I didn't know or couldn't answer yet.

After lunch I was able to get my father and Ales alone. The question was if I was ready to face the rest of my family. Since the yearly family reunion was in a couple of days. Of course I want to meet the rest of my family but I just don't want them to be super judgmental of me and my kids. I expressed what I was feeling to them and both of them reassured me that my family wouldn't judge us. With hearing their reassurance I decided I was fine with meeting the family.

After this discussion we decided that the three of us would go do all the shopping.
