Chapter 18

Most of my brothers decided to go shopping with us and it went surprisingly well. Xavier and Sam ended up staying so I had them watch the kids. There were only a few minor arguments mainly about what stores we went into.

When we pulled back into the driveway I noticed that there were multiple cars that I hadn't seen before meaning that the family arrived early. Taking a deep breath I realize the family could've already met my kids. It would certainly make an interesting first impression.

Looking to I asked Max if it was too late to turn around, he just shook his head. Taking a deep breath I get out of the car and walk into the mansion. We all could hear a loud chuckle followed by several other laughs. I feel a comforting squeeze on my upper arm from Armando. I guess it's a twin thing that he can tell I needed that comfort. Although everyone could tell that I'm a nervous wreck.

Heading to the stairs I see Sam in the living room with the family. He make eye contact with me and shifts his eyes upwards indicating that Xavier is up there with the kids.

As I continue my ascent I can hear a quiet shushing coming from Xavier's room. Knocking on the door I hear a stressed voice say come in.

Opening the door I see Cameron sleeping with pillows surrounding him. Sarah and Clayton are sniffling seeming like they just got done crying. I pick Clayton up and ask Xavier what's wrong and if he went downstairs with them to meet the family or not. I'm surprised when he says that he knew it should be done after I got home so he's been making quick snack trips and trying to keep the kids distracted. This interaction with extended family was going to be one for the books, between controlling any comments made by the family and attempting to keep the kids from having and large meltdowns.

I tell Xav to let me take Sarah and he can carry Cameron downstairs. Nodding he passes me Sarah and then picks Cameron up. I'm glad that he's such a deep sleeper otherwise it would've been a different story. Picking up a few toys to keep them distracted we start leaving his room.

When we are around a two thirds of the way down Sarah starts screaming that she wants mando. The voices in the other room start quieting down the closer we get and the clearer that can hear Sarah. Cartiér walks over to the entryway and takes Clayton and a toy from me saying grandpa gonna show him a cool trick. I have no clue what the trick it but I'm too busy trying to get my daughter to calm down before the grand introduction.

Xavier and Cameron find a seat in a secluded area of the living room so he can still join in with the conversations but Cameron can still sleep. Armando finally walks over and take Sarah from me telling her that uncle mando is here. She instantly stops crying and starts messing with his hair. All three of my kids with my father and brother gives me some warm and comfort knowing they will grow up with plenty to protectors in their lives.

It takes me a second to realize but the room has gone quiet and all eyes are on us. I know that they have plenty of questions but I think he first thing to do is introduce everyone to me. I look toward my dad and he nods and stands up leaving Clayton playing with toys on the couch.
